If you don't want to know what is going to happen this season, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER. For the rest of you, yes, 2013 is going to be incredible. The season will likely be remembered forever. So much happened, so many plot lines and so many eventful races. These are the snippets of some of the most important parts of the 2013 season:
The championship was won by Sebastian Vettel at the end - again. His fourth consecutive title finally proved once and for all that he is an average driver at best. The speculations about Mark Webber's future could also be put to rest. He commented his departure saying it had been an amazing ride but everything in life must come to an end and he hopes to be always remembered as the guy who almost won a title.
The highlight of the season was Kimi Räikkönen's radio message in Spa. During an intense qualifying session he yelled his engineer to "not talk to him while he's driving". This hilarious quote instantly got a life of its own and became a classic. "Don't talk to him while he's eating his ice cream, he knows what he's doing" and other genius one liners filled the F1 forums for the following 9 months.
Hearts sunk in Hungary when history repeated itself and Felipe Massa was hit by a spring for the second time. However for some odd reason this reverted the changes caused by the first hit and he became fast again. So fast that it eventually ended Alonso's career in Ferrari. Santander thought he hadn't done enough during the four year stint in the team and decided to buy him off replacing him with a younger more driven Spaniard Esteban Gutiérrez. It was extremely awkward when they found out that Gutiérrez was in fact not Spanish at all and actually quite crap.
In Mercedes Lewis Hamilton showed clear dominance over Nico Rosberg by having a total of four poles, two wins and a night with Rosberg's girlfriend. This created a feud between the drivers that is yet to be resolved. Meanwhile in Hamilton's former team Martin Whitmarsh had a shocking revelation after the Monaco GP when he realized that Jenson Button was the number one driver in McLaren. He got severely depressed and quit his job.
Despite a rather tame start, the season also saw numerous of crashes. The worst one happened in Silverstone when Romain Grosjean accidentally rammed Red Bull's pitwall. Fans were delighted and relieved that only Christian Horner was injured. Grosjean later put the blame on Hamilton who had retired from the race earlier and was standing on Mercedes' pitwall, claiming that his incredibly white teeth had reflected sunlight to his eyes.
In Sauber Nico Hülkenberg was once again replaced by a pay driver. Many fans got angry because this pay driver wasn't Kamui Kobayashi. The Japanese driver's loyal fan base actually sent an open letter to all teams, explaining that a couple of ballsy overtakes are a proof that he deserves a seat and how his otherwise mediocre pre-F1 record and F1 career just mask this.
Marussia ended up winning the battle between the backmarker teams, partly because Charles Pic's superlicense was revoked because nobody knew who he was. Giedo van der Garde was also fired and replaced by a rock and Catherham have high hopes its going to be less useless than him.
All in all it's going to be an amazing season and you don't want to miss it!
