Just read that we have seen the last of Panis in F1 machinery (although I have no doubt he'll be in other series.) I remember his win in 1996 at Monaco, a stunning drive with incredable enthusiasm, and the fact only 4 cars finished only emphasised his driving talent to keep the Ligier on the road.

Shame to see him go. I think he had a lot of respect. He was one of the nice guys. Amazing that he went on for so long after that smash in Canada. I remember seeing it and thinking: "Ouch".
