Marussia MR02 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Marussia performed really bad in Bahrain and all the sudden no more comments about their car being better than the Caterham's? Bianchi all the sudden no more a good driver as well? This car I think has limits and the Caterham's have just started to unleash a bit of its potential.

Just my opinion.

You are coming off sounding like a fanboi when most ppl just did the simple conclusion that Bianchi is better then Chilton and drives this car better and faster then him and both Caterhams.

And you start attacking instantly when we dont say anything, but we dont say anything cause there is nothing to say.

Obv Caterhams updates to its car worked :D Will be intresting to see in Spain when Caterham will bring the huge update package and i assume Marussia will aswell. Imo this fight is more intresting then at the front :D

@Huntresa, im not trying to attack anybody, if I came off that way, my apologies. I was merely making a statement to some of the posters here that they were preaching that Marrusia's car was simpler and has allot more room for improvements than the Caterham's and now they are quiet.
Anyways, I do love this battle between the 2 teams allot, and yes, I am more on the Caterham side than the Marussia side, however I do respect Marussia as a team and think that Bianchi has done well in the first few races.
Im also looking forward to Barcalona and compare the upgrade from Marussia, Caterham, Williams and Torro Rosso, which can make I think will be very intersting battles.

Is it just me or are Marussia starting to get some more sponsorship? It's good to see.

Yes, but relative small sponsors. The sidepods are remarkably empty, leaving those open for a bigger sponsor.

A little study from their sponsors:
-bifold: uk company specialised in hydraulics. Looks like they get sponsor room in exchange for reduced prices for Marussia
-sage: enterprise resource planning. I think purely a sponsor.
-Qnet: seems to be the biggest sponsor. Hong Kong based; seems to sell all kinds of consumer products. purely a sponsor.

Looks like some more unknown international names looking for exposure.

I've seen a McLaren MP4-12C parked at the factory a few times recently. Not sure who it belongs to - maybe a sponsor or perhaps it's the boss's. Either way, a sign of some money around the place.

Likely that the Marussia F1 Team may announce the contract with Ferrari for the supply of engines starting in 2014 in the coming days (source: Motorsport-Total).

Surprisingly tiny break ducts for the most break heavy circuit on the calendar.

Teams have overcome the breaking heat issue in Canada. Last year bremco came out with an all new material, CER, for the disks, featuring 1000 micro holes throughout, venting much more heat and loosing only 1mm in thickness compared to 4mm previously. Essentially break ducts are ever less needed for cooling, even on Canada. Having less bodywork stuffed there for Canada also means less drag. Even small teams like Marussia pick that up.
