Definately a good race! I remember getting my Fireblade in 2004 and watching Dave Jefferies on the GXSR, trying to emulate him on Sunday mornings at daybreak and getting my balls kicked by the fuel tank hitting potholes at 210kmh, trying to flap the bars out of corners.
I'm glad I survived that phase my life.
Ernest Hemmingway once said there are only two real sports - bull fighting and motor racing. Obviously, Papa had never been to the Isle of Man!
And truthfully, motor sports are not the bastion of bravery they once were. Which is a good thing for the longevity of today's racing drivers, but still, today's racing pales in comparison to what took place pre-WWII when it comes to danger and pushing your courage to the absolute brink.
The riders at the TT come as close as the modern world permits to "real" racing as it was back in the days of Nuvolari and Fangio, Bhera and Carraciola. Those were drivers. Today's pilots are more technicians.
Thanks for all the videos of the TT. Fabulous stuff! =D>
Some men go crazy; some men go slow. Some men go just where they want; some men never go.
