Now the others are getting a chance to test, and if Merc don't, then the sin is redressed.
why can no one get the facts strait on this subject, it's absolutely infuriating.....
They tested tires that incorporate aspects of next years tires, not tires to be used this year. The tires that will be tested at the YDT are reported to be 2012 construction wrapped in 2013 compounds, no one has tested these tires.
If they aren't allowed some running Merc should sue the FIA, as the punishment doesn't match what was originally agreed to. From a technical/safety stand point they should also sue, because its a potential safety hazard having Merc running a race on tires they have not tested with at all.
