If you open the picture separately and then magnify you can clearly see there is a slot in the wheel. You can compare the same step in the rim on the front wheel where it is not open.

I was talking about this image in my previous post... The article done by F1Talks I can confirm shows an aperture in the inner surface of the rear wheel as I have the full hi res images... The subject will be covered in my post race article for Pitpass...

Crazy idea, could it be that the outer rim and the inner part of the wheel are completely separated and are joined by some elastic material, which only serves to hold air?

This is my personal idea of "cooling rims"

Ah, is the wheel black or it is just the shadow?
if it is indeed black and the "slot" was around Silverstone then your drawing makes sense.

RX of rear tyres. I think that the air inlet on the brake fairing is just under the gap in the rim. So, my idea is that this solution are there to cool the tyre by a inner tube in the rim!

MIstery solved??? I don't think so. Everybody doesn't think so! According to Scarbs, "without seeing it for real we can't be 100% sure".
This photo is from SomersF1. I don't see a strip here; i see a groove...

From there is surely looks like a wheel made from 3 parts! Or a groove with black coating. Are wheels allowed to be made from multiple parts? Could it really be that they made an elastic wheel to colld the inner wall.
