Tiny main wing, large beam wing. What are they playing at by doing this? I suspect the drag cost for the beam wing is lesser than running any more angle of the larger main wing, hence the tiny main wing with the beam to compensate.

That beam wing is gorgeous.

surely not the volume is too small to provide a functionality like that .A Helmholtz device is there to tune the behaviour of the engine induction/exhaustsystem system at a specific rpm /load combo .
One can assume the chosen exhaust does have a peak or a dip in performance at some point of the usable power range affecting car performance /driveability ..it is a ways of tuning the exhaust pulses .
With the Helmholtz setup you can get rid of the dip or a unwanted peak -it is crude but effective -but only at a certain point of the useable range of the engine ..but as variable intake length and exhaust are outlawed you use what is allowed...

Top two elements have morphed into one on the FW.
Edit: the bits where the RW end plates meet the floor are more curvy.

In a nutshell:the volume of the he Helmholtz resonator is how big? maybe 0,5 liter..how many engine revolutions would it take to empty that chamber when the throttle is closed? the effect of maintaining a flow after shutting off the flow is zero.
All you can hope is having the pulses evened out ,this might be effective with throttle closed as well but without adding fuel the pulse will be drastically reduced anyways as the engine is reduced to an air pump without combustion or am i missing something here?

afaik it adds a bit of a "step" in exhaust flow. When throttle closes the chamber wil empty, giving it less of a sudden on/off effect of the Coanda. It is not much, but it adds drivability because the difference between on/off throttle becomes more smooth.

Exactly - prevents instability while entering and exiting corners

still the question is open ,what would this blind J bend add in terms of volume .It cannot add substance as there is nothing available those 500cc will be gone without someone taking notice.
I agree the chamber could be tuned to mellow the pulses of the engine at a certain rpm (the rpm when you go off throttle ?)
to help maintain the exhaust flow instead of having stronly fluktuating exhaust flow.

Wouldn't that chamber be under some sort of vacuum when on throttle anyway? from the gas flow?
