1. Alonso and Raikkonen confirmed for at least two seasons - hard fact.
2. Simone Resta to continue work on 2013 car with Pat Fry.
3. James Allison to work on 2014 car, alongside Rory Byrne as consultant, with Fabio Montecchi as deputy chief designer.
4. Work for 2014 chassis and engine started as early as 2012 with Luca Marmorini involved.
Do you know if Tombazis is working on the 13 or 14 car? or both?

Craig Scarborough @ScarbsF1

Chief aerodynamicist Nicolas Hennel has left Ferrari after just over a year in the role, previously he was at McLaren and Renault.

With Head of Aero Marco De Luca also departing the team this year some big restructuring seems to be going on.

De Luca left the f1 team long before, in 2011 IIRC. I do not know if Hennel was chief aero - was it not Bigois? But surely scarbs has good sources.
Would be interesting to know if Larsson is still head of cfd or that role has been taken by Marianne Hinson.

Anyway, with Bigois, Tombazis, and Agathangelou the chief aero role has multiple good options -

What amazes me, these past seasons the team always seemed to have "big restructurings" going on but nothing ever came out of it...

We got Sanchez, agathangelou, bigois, hamashima coming in, but yet no tittle ! it's a dream team every team on the grid would love to have. what do they wait to deliver ? I guess they are all working hard but nothing comes out of it, what's the missing puzzle piece ?? They need to have all the engineers from the others team working for them before they win another tittle or what ?

do you believe James. A is the answer to all our wows ?? I hope so but i doubt it..
James allen said a few days ago that rory byrne is involved at least more than 100 days a year on next year's car, so it's more than what we expected. He is the last to have beaten newey briliantly. hopefully he will be a good asset to the team, eventhough i don't like that we lak so much brain power , that we need an 'old one' to solve our problems, as if we are absolutely clueless and deprived of know how..

anyway, i see Kimi return as an answer. The answer Montezemolo thinks is required in order to shake the order up the grid. Obviously, the team isn't capable of building a car good enough to compete with newey's, so if the team is to win more titles, it needs to have two strong points scorers, and not only who pushes the team and gets 110% of what the car would normally be able to deliver. and remeber spa 2009, kimi's last win for us, he did an exceptional job there, he won the race, when the car was far from being the best on the grid. he managed to get sth out of this F60 , and that was pretty unexpected.

ricciardo at RB is a weaker asset than kimi, so 2 strong ferraristas will help reduce the gap between us and RB , at least in the constructors classification.
Let's say, if the car is 0.3 or 0.5 tenths slower than RB, nando and Kimi will reduce the gap to 0.1, 0.2 and both be in front of ricciardo. so it's 2 against one, in my opinion. Maybe in my dream

anyway, it will either be very profitable to the team if they ever manage to master each driver's will, or a complete disaster as alonso will probably cry like a diva if he feels jaleous to kimi being able to be quicker ^^

Ferrari has now hired a World Champion driver, a technical director, and a talented engineer from the Enstone-based Formula One team. Why does this sound familiar?

(Incidentally, no wonder Lotus feels screwed.)

If Lotus don't wake up they might find themselves butt naked on the fields of Oxfordshire. Not that this didn't happen already in the past...

No wonder why Kimi left Lotus. All Lotus team are moving to Ferrari. Is there anyone good still there? Now I'm worried about Hulkenberg joining Lotus finding himself like he did in Sauber at the beginning of 2013.

It's unfortunate for Lotus F1 Team, but they streched themselves to thin economically. If they would have signed titelship sponsors att the begining of the season they might have kept these employees and the much needed driver.

I hope they sort out the finances and deliver a competitive car for next season. Hulkenberg (I hope) will do a good job, Grosjean I'm not so sure of anymore, he's had plenty of time.

The mind of Alain Prost.
The dedication of Michael Schumacher.
The determination of Alex Zanardi.

That is pretty much expected to happen. Do we know if Kimi is coming to Ferrari with Slade?

I hear the 2014 Ferrari will wear black and gold livery.

BTW, all this poaching from another team cannot be going down well with the current team members, who have been sweating bullets to make the cars faster.

There is one management principle that is well known but widely ignored - major changes invariably bring lowered performance, at least initially. It takes a while for the dust to settle and everyone to figure out the new system. The popular way of expressing it is 'Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!' :o

I think that's pretty much a given. People like Pilbeam might even move. Raikkonen's departure is looking costly, although Raikkonen was going as soon as Allison moved.

Wonder what has been going on behind the scenes with Alonso. I expect that Alonso is not happy with the situation. Now he will have competetion in preferences of the car, he´s not happy with that. What was unthinkable 2010 now seems nemas problemas. It must hae been due to Alonsos arrival that Kimi had to go 2010.

Or could it be so that Kimi have changed clauses in contrat and now accepts a "strong" 2:nd driver?
