Mercedes AMG F1 W04

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

See a couple of new little vertical vanes on the nose and of course the fact that the nose is open for cooling...wonder what updates they have hidden under the sheets there

I think the little vanes under the nose are just parts of the turning vanes that sit below the chassis. The rest of the vanes are attached to the tub with just these little bits happening to be on the nose because of where the vanes sit in relation to where the nose and tub join.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Entirely possible, just thought that those vanes were too finely profiles and finished to be just attachment points...of course as with everything, could be totally off base

They have run the flow conditioner/vortex gen since '09 yes - but this is the first time I've noticed it connected to the camera pod location - I don't want to say it's new, but it might be

We will probably see the rear of the car opened up a bit for the weekend, still no shots though...

The black paint is a give-away sign.

RedBull also have black inner rims donkey's years ago i believe.
Had they have multiple little extrusions how could they maintain the pressure inside the tyre or maybe they have a double decker inner rim wheel?

Anything new on the car? It looks the same as it did in Hungary...
