You think his chances are going to be any better with McLaren? They are a country mile away and they canned a car last year that they managed to get winning races for a pull-rod monstrosity that doesn't work. There is something rotten in that team that means they will never win championships again until they sort themselves out.
Do I think his chances would be better with red Bull? YES.
Do I think his chances would be better at McLaren? Once Honda engines begin arriving, there is a very good chance, yes.
And BTW, I am a long-time fan of Alonso and a lifelong fan of Ferrari. I believe Ferrari's current problem is NOT driving ability but rather technical ability.

That's a given.

Regardless of what Honda do they need a chassis that works. Just ask BMW. An engine cannot carry a poor car. I don't really know how much faith you can have in a team that consistently blows its foot off just as things look as if they might be on the up after many years with that pull-rod disaster.

Up until now I would have agreed. However, with James Allison as technical director and someone with a very good track record I would be much more hopeful. One can only hope that the Maranello politics gets out of his way, but that's another story...... It's McLaren's technical ability that's really in question and whether it be their working methods or something else there is something very wrong with a team that snatches defeat when victory might be on the horizon every single time.

Pérez Out of McLaren perhaps.... I don't see Alonso going to McLaren but maybe Perez out of McLaren.

What do you guys think? Given McLaren having given perhaps the worst car ever built by McLaren do you guys think they should really be kicking their drivers? I'm so mixed about this Button is there for next season. Perez is 50/50 who do you guys think might be with Button next season.

I'm let down by this season and honestly I'm just disappointed in McLaren I don't think they can really sit back and judge Perez or Button. They owe it to them to give them a strong car for next season. But it's upto them as a fan I just want McLaren to step it up sitting behind Force India is.... Just sad.

Perez has been underwhelming, as I expected. I don't think he will get an extension. With Honda on the books, Perez's pesos will mean less, and will see him booted off McLaren. No I'm not trolling

Hulky might be an interesting option.
Alonso would be good but I don't see that happening.
I think they need a better driver than their current line-up in order to get things sorted with the car as well. At the moment it is even difficult to say what the car would be capable of in the hands of a top driver.
With their current line- up the predictions of last year came true, if even more than expected.
(Not so) Bold statement of mine: With the current dirvers they won't win a championship. Period.

Oh, Perez is out. He's changed his management and if Button and Perez were such formalities then they would have been signed. Button's bizarre "I have a feeling I will be here next year" comment tells you something is up. McLaren are waiting for something else to be sorted out.....

Emmmm. Right.
Why not? Who wouldn't want such a sickly driver as a team-mate? Food poisonings, back problems, I'm surprised all the people worried about Ferrari's lost constructor's championship because of Massa aren't expressing their worries now.

I guess it's Perez's time to encounter vultures. if you think that week ago Alonso was leaving Ferrari in a similar vain Perez shouldn't be overly worried.

Anybody who believes that Alonso 'asked' for Raikkonen has taken complete leave of any sense they might have had left.

Tony Fernandez hinted during the press conference that the one of their driver will most likely be replaced?

Perhaps Heikki is coming back in 2014? But who will go? Pic?

anybody who would say few years ago that chief of Mclaren would say that Alonso is the best driver and that they have free seat for him and wishing him to come back if he feels to do so, would be considered to had taken leave of any sense they might have had left.

Where did exactly Martin Whitmarsh say Alonso is the best driver? or are we using our imagination :)

"Let's be frank, people want to sign Fernando Alonso because he is one of the best motor-racing drivers in the world at the moment. He is an asset to any team.
