I don´t think with that sort of F1 experience and contracts you would go out and say "It´s done, i´ll be here in 2014" if it really wasn´t done.

Just find a McLaren announcement that it really is done. Clear things up a bit. In the mean time McLaren has said that Perez is the one who's seat is still being discussed.

Just because there´s no announcement could be many factors. Perhaps they want to have both seats locked down before announcing both drivers.
Perhaps they have a planned conference, there´s many potential reasons for not announcing it.

He has a contract with Force India for next year though, doesn't he? There doesn't seem to be a lot of noise about him going anywhere.

Unfortunately, he's had a run of bad luck combined with shitty driving at just the wrong moment. I doubt he'll be going up the grid this year.

McLaren want Kevin Magnussen. Whitmarsh has said the Dane is ready as well as Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne to make the jump to F1.

Magnussen, Vandoorne and Da Costa are in my opinion the most interesting prospects on the market right now.
Hopefully we see at least two of them in F1 next year.

Let's not forget, Brazilian Felipe Nasr with a pool of sponsors could fit in well at cash strapped Lotus.

Da costa appears to be odds on for STR next year, and I hope he gets it.
A mixed year for him this, but largely down to misfortune. Could be a tough first year with turbo's in the new Renault powered STR, with JEV having 40 races experience to his zero. But it is a good barometer of his talent, as Ricciardo hasn't exactly dominated JEV in their time together.

True, although i actually think Da Costa will obliterate Vergne not just in Quali but in races more importantly.
I think he´s destined for a Red Bull seat in the near future.

One of his main sponsors isn't doing too well though. And given how the GP2 season has turned out and the available spots in F1 right now, Nasr might do better to sit tight at GP2 for another year or take a test/reserve driver role with one of the better F1 teams.

Add Frijns to that list and it's perfect.

I'm not a big fan of da Costa, but MAGN/VAND/FRIJNS are extremely talented drivers in my humble view. I do hope both Vandoorne/Magnussen will be in F1 in the next 2 years.

I wish both da Costa and Nasr get a fair shot, but Nasr needs to start winning some races in GP2 if he wants to get a crack in a big team.

Da Costa is a tough one to judge. The way he came in last season and stormed 3.5 he was nailed on as a RB Senior. Then this season, some bad luck, mixed with some poor driving has left him far from nailed on even for a TR seat.
