Do you consider practices actually more exciting than races?

Post

If you don't have a favorite driver or team, aren't them more exciting to you?
I mean higher speeds, more spins and even more crashes. It is said that more drivers get hurt or killed in the practices.

If one likes Formula One for crashes or drivers getting hurt, one needs to find another hobby, or at least another website and stop bothering us.

And exciting... not really. Position and the end result is what counts at the race, it's pointless in practice sessions, hence takes away a big part of the value.
Also, higher speeds? Why do you think drivers attain higher speeds during practice? Their race runs are nothing faster than during the actual race...

I wouldn't say that practice is exciting. I would say that can be interesting. And sometimes it can be more interesting than the race.

As Tomba says - if you want to watch crashes then go and bother the denizens of youtube. Lots of crash videos on there.

Practice is interesting for me, in the beginning of the season i devour every second of every session. Today i fast-forward until the benchmark times are put down to get an idea of the underlying pace of the cars, long runs i visit this forum to see what people have caught up.
So FP1, get a feel for the harder compound. FP2 the softer compound, FP3 the softer compound but with a Quali-run.
