2013 Helmet Designs

When did he run a blue helmet? Maybe that wasn´t even in F1 or i´m just mistaking him for someone else.

edit: he used to run this, blue and yellow, not sure when though.



Then this for 2011 according to the link.



Now this, not sure when it became full yellow.



I could have sworn he ran a white blue helmet in early days but maybe it´s the first one.

To be honest, I don't like Rosberg's new helmet. It is nearly all yellow, nothing special. It was better to use his father's design as a heritage. This new one is... too simple, too yellow. In my opinion.

He ran blue his whole career until he went to Mercedes when he swapped for grey/silver.

I agree with you guys. 1 helmet per weekend would be a good rule. I like the various designs that drivers come up with.
I just didn't liked when Vettel used one for FPs and another for Qualy and at the Race he had used a new one or got back to FPs's design. That is a bit confusing.

To be fair to him, it's not totally random. He only switches helmets when weather conditions change over a weekend and a rain visor is needed. Other drivers also carry more than one at once but all pretty much with the same design, so you just don't notice whichever they wear.

Btw, I also wish Hamilton keeps the white one. I loved his Singapore helmet last year too.

Vettel should stay with the white one. To me it´s one of the best looking designs in all of F1 history.




i think it´s a bit too much with the helmet switching and sometimes it looks like there´s a disco on his head.

I dislike Rosberg's helmet massively, it's horrible and always has been. A nice one for me was Jenson's at Suzuka:

The back reminds me of a Kimi style lid.

I actually like the standard JB lid - something very personal about it IMO. Clean and simple, too. When did Vettel wear that astronaut helmet again?

Heh. I knew I saw that helmet in a victory celebration before - just couldn't remember when.

What's the forum's take on Vettel's helmet rotation policy? I personally don't like it as I'd prefer him to stick to a design that will become associated to his identity, but it's probably personal preference. What do others think?

Personally have no problem with him changing helmets every few races. With the Red Bull branding it's pretty difficult to make anything exciting and that is worth being permanently associated with. Take a look at Vergne & Ricciardo, they essentially have the same helmet with a subtly different top.
