Nope, it's possible. People from Total say it's not impossible to see both Total and PDVSA on the same car, for many reasons...
But Lotus is still talking with Quantum. http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2013/11/ ... -lotus-f1/

Sounds like Caterham could bring back Heikki?
Q: What's the state of play with your drivers for next year? What are the important criteria for you and when do you hope to have that concluded?

Cyril ABITEBOU: We would like to have that done fairly quickly, I would say. In particular sooner than last year - because we were late in confirming our line-up -because there is an awful lot of work to be done between the teams and the drivers. A lot of teams are changing, including for the drivers, and the sooner we can integrate and work together, the better it will be for next year. Having said that, in terms of what we want, there is a lot of options. Consistency is a good thing, so one of the options is that we continue with the two drivers that we have, building on the relationship that we have started. But everything is changing anyway, so I think one thing we want is someone who is reliable in his feedback because we will have to develop the car during the season. We didn't develop much the car this season. Next season will be a totally different ball game - in particular the start of the season when everything will be new. We will have to adapt ourselves, the drivers will have to adapt themselves, so experience might be something that is interesting but more than anything I think someone who's capable of being almost transparent and providing the most accurate feedback as possible to the engineers who're trying to understand how the car is working, is something that will be important for us.

Interesting article in Auto Motor und Sport: http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/form ... 88319.html

The important pointers:

- The deal with Quantum is 270 million dollars over five years for a 35% share in the team
- Quantum wants Hülkenberg
- Gerard Lopez doesn't mention any of the compliance problems from the Saward article, but basically just tells Quantum to put their money where their mouth is and finally pay up
- Quantum has until mid-November to do so
- Source from within Williams: "When does Pastor finally understand that people are after his money, not himself?" xD

An unnamed source from Williams one would assume?
Comes across as bitter.

Citing 'compliance problems' is as good a confirmation as it gets that there is, in fact, no money. It's a classic line that Joe Sewer is swallowing.

Force India offer Nico Hulkenberg two-year deal as fears grow over German's F1 future
http://www1.skysports.com/f1/news/12473 ... -f1-future
"I spoke to Hulkenberg's manager this morning and he is terrified that Hulkenberg will end up with nowhere to drive next year which is utterly, utterly ridiculous. Unfortunately, the midfield need money and he doesn't bring money, just talent and speed."
Ack. That last line just makes my brain hurt. Talent and speed are exactly what should attract $$$.

I wonder why Hulkenberg doesn't attract sponsorship. I guess part of the problem will be competing against Rosberg and Vettel who'll grab most of the German sponsors?

And all that on the background that in Germany it is generally difficult to get big Sponsorship for Motorsports.
Motorsports isn't considered particularly 'Green' and at the same time for PR purposes the big outfits in Germany must daily prove they are absolutely 'Green'. They use to have it ranking high in their Corporate Guidelines therefore (Moreover writing statements on paper doesn't cost money) since you can't publicly admit that you like or even support environmentally unfriendly stuff.
Therefore F1 doesn't fit well into Corporate Guidelines of the Big Money.
And as mentioned with two other excellent F1 drivers it makes it almost impossible to get millions of Sponsorship, no matter how good you are.

He doesn't have the titles of Vettel, and doesn't look like Rosberg.

I'd also wager that to the average F1 viewer, Hulkenberg driving valiently to a 5th place isn't as exciting as to us anoraks. Let's be honest, if you're trying to put together an ad campaign, Vettel & Rosberg will be bigger draws than Hulkenberg.

I'd say lack of sponsorship is his manager's responsibility. The world is bigger than Germany, too, if you can't find sponsors there, go look elsewhere.

Anyway, seating at competitive teams is limited. I don't think it's the end of the world if he stays with Sauber.

let´s be realistic here .who has ever found serious sponsorship moneys as a driver and got a F1 drive because of it?
Isn´t it the other ways round that sponsorship finds guys for whatever reason?
what is it making Venzoela paying 20+million $ to have Maldonado in F1 ,or Perez or Gutierrez for that matter? van der GaRDE ;Pic,Chilton all have serious backers very close to them (family ties ).you can hardly say they "found sponsorship"- they are what you would have called a gentlemen driver in the early days.

you have to look no further than Vettel to realiser that only now after several F1 Championship wins he is attarcting sponsorship deals with Braun, tirendo,Head and shoulders etc .not yet comparable to schumacher but he´s getting onto that path.

Have you ever seen something related to rosberg ? I have toadmit i cannot remember,as i cannot remember Frentzen ever had serious "private " sponsors .

As a serious driver you would even not want to be asociated with bringing sponsorship money

hulk says the situation is not like he is signing the contract as soon as the financial situaion is solved for lotus:
http://www.formula1.com/news/interviews ... 15200.html

in fact he is stopping short of saying he will sign the first contract he is offered as long as it pays his cost and has some perspective- but not for williams who have lied to him .....who btw was the boss there ,then? Wolff ,maybe?
