Yeah ive watched SS and SB this year on Eurosport, i think i saw a race at Turkey and then the horrific race in Moscow.

Unfortunately that was the worst kind of freak accident. The race shouldn't have been started. Bikes can grip the road with wet weather tires, but the visibility was zero for the midpack and beyond. The years I've been watching motorcycle racing it has happened i think 4-5 times. Craig Jones in 2008, then Shoya Tomizawa, Peter Lenz, Marco Simoncelli and then Antonelli. It's time to introduce a neck section airbag that covers the helmet in the event of a crash. They already have airbags in racing leathers that inflate.

Yeah im looking for the same cause i wanna know the actual different between, Factory, Satelite and Production Bikes, especially for next year.

And it gets even weirder when Yamaha just delivers the frame and engine and something more but the rest is up to the the team running it, does that even count as a production yamaha like the Honda one ?

Add Iannone´s Ducati into that mix which is a development bike for Ducati if i´m not mistaken.

Yeh, I think I need to start watching superbikes. Shame about the BBC losing its coverage of MotoGP - I don't know where I am going to watch it from now on.

With regards to the lack of popularity of the MotoGP, it is a bit sad to see a lack of interest on these forums. I'm a bit of a fan of many racing series, for me the thrill is in going fast, the racing is an add on.

Formula1 recently has really turned me off, after qualifying there is hardly any reason to watch the race. Last year was amazing to watch Formula 1, not because the racing was great, but because what Alonso was doing what might perhaps go down as the best performance of any driver over a season ever. I tuned in for Alonso, and I must confess, previously I didn't really like the guy but you can only marvel at what he did last year.

One other things about the motor bikes, you can get your hands on a bike, which is super fast and drive around on that for a fraction of the car. To that end I have decided to finally get myself a motorbike license for the UK, just need to work out the details.

Yeh, I think I need to start watching superbikes. Shame about the BBC losing its coverage of MotoGP - I don't know where I am going to watch it from now on.

Having followed WSBK and MotoGP i can say that Eurosport has the best coverage of the lot.
Especially the MotoGP coverage. Eurosport actually has an expert that joins every now and again and gets into the properly technical bits which is fantastic to listen to.

Like a Scarbs on air sort of. If you can get the British Eurosport i highly recommend it.
I download mine so it´s quite convenient.

Eurposport coverage has now ceased - BTSport have bought the rights and in the UK that is all you can get. no BBC or Eurosport.

The tech guy - Neil Spalding or @spalders on twatter. He wrote the MotoGP tech books that are very interesting indeed.

I can highly recommend the online pass - already renewed again for next year and watched three hours of testing this morning. I understand the commercial realities but it really is streets ahead of F1 in terms of shear volume of coverage and accessibility.

One quick question, though, for anyone else with an online pass - do you buy the multi-screen or normal pass? I've experimented with multi-screen but it doesn't seem to be worthit really.

Yea watching testing right now, that´s another thing F1 don´t do. Just a 15 minute re-cap with SkySports..
New bikes looks very interesting, can´t wait for next season.

Joking aside, I know you've probably been considering it for quite a while now. I bought my first bike nearly 6 years ago and it took over 3 years to convince my folks with the crazy traffic we have over here. You are very lucky; countries like the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy are biking heavens -especially the latter two given their weather. If you do it the right way, it will be one of the best decisions you've made in your life. I've quite a bit of knowledge about bikes and biking gear (helmets, leathers, gloves etc.). Even though you've got access to more and better equipment we have over here -and knowledge too- feel free to ask anything

For starters, if this isn't already in your bookmarks, it should be imho. Very friendly and knowledgeable folk.

I just wish they would take commentators from other places.
The swedish F1 broadcast is horrendous and embarrassing a lot of the time.
Eje comes with history but sometimes he´s just in a different dimension during broadcasts.

And on top of that, you can´t just buy Viasat Motor. You need to buy the total Viasat Sport package.
