one silly question here:
Is it a useful thought to use this kind of equipment in sodden rain conditions? apart from the apalling water saturation of the air with unexpected phenomena -as we have seen lately in USA with whiskers forming at elevated humidity combined with low ambient temps -I find the thought horrible to get my probes hit and contaminated with water drops ...not speaking of the changed ride heights combined with different aero behaviour when using intermediate tyres..

who knows what that test was for...maybe destabilize the opposition..

I had no idea vortexes was so solid in that they keep the same "shape", i always thought it was a bit irregular chaos but that looks so solid i don´t even know what to say.

BTW: RBR is the only team that has some data of the 2014 tyres (useful or not, but they have some)

VORTICES! (I am a fan)

The interesting info that we get form this wet air images comes from the fact that the visible surface is where the pressure is low enough to reach dew point. So the gray surface that we see is an isobar; the fact that ferrari's cone was muche wider than redbull cones at the same temperature tells something about the vorticity and the helicity of the vortex.

More helicity for redbull of course.. Helmholtz is your friend

I dont think it actually goes via barge board, when it turns it does so far before the barge board, like just behind the tyre it starts to bend prob from air coming from the side from under the nose. If you seen that cfd pic of the sauber you could imagine that air coming in there.
