of course I was joking! It would be a cold day in hell when I see Ronny in a tracksuit at a rainy test pushing a car back to the pits.

Notice all the merchanics have an Alonso cut or shorter, Ron obviously runs a tight ship!

Am i among the many who believe Alonso has become a bit more arrogant since joing the Mclaren squad? he used to be more humble when he was at Renault, he has changed a lot,
Probably because MS is gone and now he feels that he's at the top of the food chain, plus he's the only WC currently competing, and a 2xWC at that,
I really hope that Massa or Raikkonen put him in his place for at least this season

In my opinion, I think the screws started coming loose when Michael made his fabulous run in Canada in 2006. As soon as that pressure started, I do believe that Alonso was starting to show rather unfavorable characteristics. But excuse me, I am not here to judge, I am here to agree in my hopes that for an all RED season for 2007 (well, not all red, I am in much suppot of L. Hamilton and would love to see a close season between teams). As long as it is a close season, I will be satisfied. :D

Arrogance or perceived personal elitism? Alonso has achieved a lot in the last two years, from winning two WDC titles to enduring a full out battle with Schumacher at the last half of the season. He's most likely the highest paid driver in Formula One, and once again will have the number one on his car. All this has to change a person. Despite most people's desires to become or remain a "nice" person, people do change with their environment.
He's now an alpha male, and gee whiz, just look at who his mentor is, Briatore. So I wouldn't be surprised to see him wearing lots of gold chains and wearing a skinny thong...........
But he is a very good driver, and like Phoenix, all I desire is a closely contested season.

He's worked the pitboard on occasion.

i agree as well, it should be a closely contested season, but I'll only be trully satisfied once Ferrari come out on top

as for alonso, its more than likely that everything he's acheived in the past two years has finally gotten to his head, but even up until last season he was still a somewhat humble person/driver, its almost like the mclaren atmosphere has corrupted his soul and spirit, maybe a bit exaggerated but close to the truth

Would you please shut up!
You're all a bunch of anti-McLaren guys...
McLaren is not the dark side of F1, that's Max, Bernie and Ferrari for their manipulation of the rules...

Don't you remember Fernando saying "Renault did nothing for me", "I feel alone" and other stupid stuff last season? How do you call it?

I dare him to say "McLaren does nothing for me" or "Williams does nothing for me" for that matter; Ron and Frank are not kind of such public statements.
And I'm sure Flavio didn't like it either; Alonso was forced to apologize to his team.

plus there's no mclaren bashing going on, we were talking about alonsos character change

tifosi like it or not you did bash mclaren
"..almost like the mclaren atmosphere has corrupted his soul and spirit, maybe a bit exaggerated but close to the truth."
..hahaha..that says it all mate. but personally..its fun in a sense. we all do it like it or not. We are all pasionate about the teams we like. So wats wrong in supporting em to the fullest and having a lil fun undermining another team abit..its passion. as long as we don't go at our heads with knives its all good.
well about the topic here, i think Alonso is no different from Micheal after micheal moved to ferrari. Like it or not there is no WDC champion who dosen't come across as arrogant. But its our extremist preception that gets us that view..well all humans have it..as specially when your not a supporter of that particular person. You view them as arrogant and aloof. I viewed Ferrari and Renault as such when they were WC. but when Mclaren were i never had such views..but its true..being WDC does change your character in a sense. but they all follow a common trend. So its nothing new. [/quote]

Surely you all agree that in any relationship between employer and employee there are mutual adjustments that must be done for the satisfaction of both parts. It's not different when you make the same job for different companies.
McLaren has standards of behavior that are perfectly understandable and that reflect the values of the stock owners. And, like it or not, there has been no other F1 team that managed to stay so many years competitive (at least on a position of a championship contender) as McLaren has been (I'm talking after being fusioned with Project 4 and reborn). And what's good for McLaren is good for its workers and its drivers. No corruption of souls here...
