Mercedes F1 W05 Pre-launch Speculation

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Now that looks interesting..

What are the two parts that are cutting through each other?

Looks like pushrod and integrated steering arms.
Sidepods look quite undercut from this angle.

Could someone use photoshop to help with the blurred part?

Steering arm combined with the higher wishbone for aero. Nothing new. The MP4 29 combines it with the lower one for a lower CoG.

Interesting that they need to cut a section out of the steering arm shroud to get the push rod through. I guess there must be some small benefit in getting the two so close to each other.

Are you talking about the two parallel parts or the second and third arm we can see?
I´m talking about the third part that is cutting right through the second arm diagonally.

Edit: nevermind, Belse just said it was a pushrod

I had a look on photoshop and the area to the front of the suspension arms and the rear has been blurred but also swirled and distorted. They like playing with us =D> . Initially it looks like a high chassis like the ferrari but it looks like they tried to heighten the bit behind the nose to trick us  . I think it may follow the lower curve like the Mclaren chassis to nose, but I am guessing. As long as the trend for each new car reveal looking different i don't mind.

Yup! That should be the engine cover. At least we know their livery contains some black  That's good for a change. I hate their plain silver with that green Petronas
Condolences for Schumacher?
Sorry, but I don't think so. It's just a way to give more visibility to the "Mercedes Star" (Mercedes-Benz inside  )

They must be doing something interesting with their brake ducts if they have the steering knuckle that high for such a tie rod configuration which as we can see is practically mates to the a-arm.
