but don't pick anything out of this, it's really based on nothing but speculation on some days of testing.
pure boredom and speculation. like i said, it means nothing.

having lost tuesday , 1.5 days each driver
not sure that is best , give the more experienced driver most testing time would be my solution

I'm sure Magnussen is more than capable of driving the car round the track to a given delta time at a steady pace...if not McLaren seriously made the wrong decision in hiring him

Far better to give them both the opportunity to get used to the feeling of the new car/power plant/braking system

vettel not running the RedBull gives me the hunch that he's fed up with waiting for nothing and doesn't believe Jerez
has ANY significanse. that'll be a blow.

I really, really expected RedBull and Toro Rosso to actually be driving around now, really expected Renault to have made
sufficient 'fix' to atleast get some mileage. This doesn't bode well at all. It's worse case scenario imho.
3 Teams on the grid that can't get anything right now.

if there indeed is a flaw, i think it's not even beneficial to even take the cars out for a spin because really, there might
end up a very different engine in the end with different ers hybrid stuff....

@Manoah

What makes you think Vettel feels Jerez has no significance?
You are aware that the problems suffered here may not be so prevalent in Bahrain.

Therefore it is very significant that they are here.

because he left,

and rb doesn't get any runs. i'd expect vettel having most experience with the redbull camp,
to let ricciardo ride later on, and instead keep vettel driving the redbull IF they actually are going
to ride at all.

if they wouldn't have unsolvable problems, surely jerez has significanse. but it looks like a lost cause now.

Why would Vettel run if it is Ricciardo's designated test day?

mclaren let button ride instead of magnussen for the same reason ; missing testing time.

According to AMuS, two teams might need to change their noses because of the way they behave during a crash-test. Rumours are that those teams might be RB and Mercedes.

Magnussen is a rookie that cannot give as detailed feedback as Button.
Ricciardo has 2 and half seasons of F1 under his belt and is known for giving good feedback.
Do the math.

Red bull being at this test will save them time when it comes to Bahrain. I'm confused as to how you think this is a lost cause as testing is all about problem solving initially, with Performance to come from later tests.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I find it a bit strange that Vettel has left "home" and isn't even sticking around anymore. IMO - these testing days are crucial for any team, and as a participant of the team and as a driver, any progress or information that could be learned would be quite important. The fact that he has just left, well, I find it a bit odd at the very least... but maybe I'm reading too much into it?
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

There is a rumor that FIA will check again Mercedes and RedBull noses as they are too fragile.

Wasn't Vettel the guy and RB the team that worked harder than anyone else?

Joking aside, seems like they don't anticipate to get any meaningful data out of the test from now on and are just hoping to fix the problem
