Formula 1 Odds and Betting 2014

Post

So last year I won £50 betting a tenner for Vettel to get pole/fastest lap/win at a GP. Have many people put down a bet for this season so far? Did anyone ever put anything on Brawn GP to win in 2009?

Here is an odds checker that I found http://www.oddschecker.com/motorsport/f ... ampionship

I am pretty tempted to put a small amount on Nico Hulkenburg for Australia at odds of 51.0. Thoughts and opinions?

I think it will be most likely a Mercedes PU win in Melbourne so HUL for 51 is not completley crazy, but I think it will be between MAG;HAM;ROS;BUT maybe BOT and MAS
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

That was my thinking, aswell. I have used SkyBet before which i really enjoyed because it had 'live' betting. - Sometimes it's possible to outwit the person/algorithm that updates the odds.

That was the only year I've ever bet on F1... I couldn't decide whether to put a fiver on Vettel or Button for the championship. Vettel's odds were 45/1, Button's were 180/1.

Guess who I put a fiver on?

...Vettel.

I'll never forget the first day when the BrawnGP went out in 2009. I instantly wanted to put 100 EUR on Button winnning the WDC, but in the end I followed my brain instead of my gut feeling and I didn't do it.

The more i hear phrases like "wheelspins all the way to fifth" the more I want to put WDC money on a Finn..

I put £20 on Magnussen WDC. I put it on before Jerez at 66-1
Also £20 on Button at 40-1

Anyone knows a betting site that will take bets from decent Brazil? Tried Coral and they won't.

Driving skill is as innate to the Finns as engineering skill is innate to the Germans.

At least, that's what I used to think until I actually visited Germany....

Does it not also make you think Hamilton? (not a fanboy). I would recon throttle control and a bit of sideways was right down his street.

Fernando or Lewis for the title I feel.

Ferrari or Merc for constructors.

I realise how ridiculous these guesses are at this stage in the season.

Countering this is that it seems he really needs very, very 'talkative' brakes and I wonder about how happy BBW is going to make him - but yes, the more like Go Karting it is the more it suits him - last sector at Singapore anyone?

Also a certain Mr "we could only afford to run slicks no matter what the weather" Button.

I have done the Betfair odds into percentage chances of the drivers to win the WDC

This is representing the betting money that was put on the drivers helmet as of March 1st 2014.

IMO it will be interesting in some weeks time to revisit this and and see how the picture has changed after racing the new cars. This is what the betting money thinks after testing is almost over.

If you think this is finally Massa's year because he is in a Merc powered car and the Williams will be better than the Merc and McLaren chassis you can risk a tenner and win 450 for it. For 100 € you will be paid € 4.500 in case Massa wins.
