Carlisle Airport pics, dial up beware, ex RAF fighters

I went down to Carlisle Airport on Saterday and took some pictures of the display planes on my phone. After frgging about with bluetooth, PDAs and yahoo I managed to get most of them to show you guys, enjoy.

I expect each one of these aircraft named by the time I wrestle the rest off yahoo and post them here. They're all British except one if thats a help.
They're very dark but I put that down to the Cumbrian weather and the fact its a phone. I can see some photoshop oppertunities if anyone would like a shot, feel free.

I know for sure one is the wonderful Phantom. My favorite aircraft, after the Hornets I worked on of course. The others........I'll have to do more research.

Yup, Phantom is one, I have a model of that, beautiful Aircraft, but when you get up close you realise how aerodynamically flawed it seems, it has those wings which curve up and then at the back it has steeply angles tail wings to counteract this. Can you tell us anything more about it Ray?

The Phantom used to be the only plane that could fly dead vertical, not sure if any others can now but I remember my dad talking to me about them a few years ago.

The last one (several pics actually) is one of my favourite ever aircrafts: Avro Vulcan. It used to carry atomic bombs and was featured in the James Bond film Thunberball ;)

Actually I have seen a Su-27 fly dead vertical at an airshow 8)

Is the one with the intake on the nose a Lightning?

Last one left is a Meteor. I cheated on that one. sorry.

The Vulcan I'm told was famouse for flying vertical as it could almost take off vertically and reach Mach1.

You're all right so far, I was amazed I could get so close to all these planes and see all the tiny details on the wings etc which is the difference between Mach 2 and a fiery crash.

its a lightning. The RAF would never have migs. The Lightning was design to take out Migs.

They are all great aircraft. All that is missing is the best looking plane ever the spitfire!

If I'm not mistaken, Duxford is supposed to be the home of one of the prototypes of the Concorde. How come you don't have it in your photo album (or am I blind?)

They were still refurbishing the museum that would house the Concorde when I visited. All I could do was peek between the doors. A photo wouldn't have shown anything significant :(

I was asking because i love that plane. Ugly as sin, but by far one of the greatest airplanes ever built.

That looks very similar to the view coming into Corfu, Obviously I only saw it from the plane window but I remember my mum making the same quip.
