So, Hamilton posted his time on used softs.
I'm confused, I've seen most sites report he was on the super soft tyre, and a few have said soft, was it definitely the soft tyre?
Here's the link to Pirelli Test Review ... http://www.pirelli.com/corporate/en/pre ... y-2-march/ Check out the last part, it's there...Ham on used softs when he knocked of that 1m33.278s. thatz a lil' tickle to other teams specially Williams from Mercedes. Yeah?! 8)

Alonso was already measured with 336 I believe last week.

This "75HP less than Mercedes" rumor looks like total BS to me, or Ferrari has a drag coefficient of a Prius...
this max speed from previous years but this year max speed will be higher due to more hp from engine and less drag from new rules plus big open of DRS flap this year , and i think FERRARI tend this year for less drag set up(more max speed) to save fuel .

I don't think it's always a good strategy: higher down force means higher speed in turn so less energy to (re)accelerate the car.

i think that is where role of aero will come in , if updates help them in increasing the value L(downforce)/D(Drag) value then ,it will benefit them in corners as well as on straights.i think that may be the reason why the aero mapped full car in past three tests , they have faith in this less drag design and with correlation data matching with wind tunnel data , we have finally something to cheer about. their development pace has been good fr years , only issue was updates they brought did not work , lets hope aero updates remain reliable and effective and we will have some serious things to discuss across full year

And facts say that the Williams for example proved to be more reliable and was faster than the Mclaren when both did their race sims in day2. The Williams was fastser even when the Mclaren used the softer tires in it last stint. So why place the Mclaren ahead? useless predictions anyway.
Hey, first of all many of these predictions have placed Williams ahead of McLaren (I know I did). Second, the predictions are not "stupid", neither are they "useless". They're just a bit of fun, something to do while we wait for the season to start. And they are not "based on nothing", they are as a matter of fact based on everything that has happened in three weeks of pre-season testing. Maybe they will prove quite accurate, maybe not, who cares?

I agree, belief in RB's omnipotence for Australia is surprising. Predictions are boring anyway, usual top 5 can be summarized with: Mercedes powered cars (McLaren based only on engine) + Ferrari (based on: 50% engine and 50% name/budget).

Boring tests as well despite all car failures, only Button saved it. Believe him or not his info was more interesting than most on track observations people seem to like (Windsor), media noises and team reactions. I liked how he answered fuel saving techniques question: rolling his eyes ("long story and you wouldn't understand anyway..." ) and saying that it's much more complicated that throttle application and such (or sth like that).

Alonso added something too, he had to use all his samurai-Zen philosophy to hide disappointment of another on the back foot start behind forced smile: "these cars are very complicated". You know engine, ERS, software etc. which was supposed to be an advantage for one of the two full manufacturers. How embarrassing it would be if Williams is in front of Ferrari and McLaren. They have no excuses this time.

The general impression is mercedes on top, then a group of mclaren, williams, force india and ferrari right behind.

However, a performance advantage might be less decisive this year. Reliability issues can hit even the teams with the least issues, even williams or mercedes. And of course there are all new race strategies which are more easily to get wrong.
