It is only a defective sensor. They will change it and the car should run ok...
With the mapping it would be difficult.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Wasn't faulty sensor the reason engine defaulted to that specific map? If so, fixing the sensor should also fix the mapping problem. If not, then they should pull the car from parc ferme, fix/change the mapping and start from pitlane. No point in driving round in a car that's guaranteed to be 1-2s off the pace.

ICE mapping or ERS mapping? or ERS mapping is integrated to a PU mapping now?
Btw. It is allowed to change this mapping after Qualy now that we are on a post blown diffuser era?

Might be often the case, but it doesn't necessarily mean that when someone is lying he is looking into upper left corner.

Neither does it mean that every person is lying that's looking upper left corner while speaking.

I get the feeling of slow motion when watching current F1.
Obviously it is a bit of illusion as a few second of slower than last year can't be that bad.

So what are the predicitions for the race?

(if dry)

After a painful 2012 AUS i think Hamilton will bring this home with Rosberg completing the 1-2.
Ricciardo will fall back and possibly finish behind Vettel.
Williams drivers will storm through the field and end up in the top 5.

Mclaren and Ferrari scratching their heads of how to close the gap to the front.

Great job by Ricci putting it where he did, but tomorrow he's just going to be in the way being where he is. I fully expect Rosberg, Magnussen, and possibly Alonso to pass him quickly. RB10s race pace is not podium material

A very real possibility. Excellent assessment.

lol -- everyone saying that RD is already at the top, that the rest of the teams should feel bad because with almost no testing they are there... Also saying that RIC will clean the track with Vet. Its only the first qualy, and even with rain, so you do not know much from it.

Enjoy

AMUS said that Red Bull's long runs were inferior only to Mercedes.
In fact Alonso will have bigger problems. Ferrari's fuel consumption is more critical than others.

the strategies change if the safety car enters. Heavy rain, broken cars ... so much emotion.

I think how Redbull celebrated P1 for the few seconds that Riccardo had it on hold before Ham got it,
resume the confidence and the situation at Redbull right now. On last 4 years have you seen RB celebrating that way?, and that make Riccardo quali so great, despite Vettels problem.

Does anybody have an up to date weather forecast for tomorrow? Google keeps giving me 2 day old forecasts ...

Incidentally, "Martini Racing" is an anagram of "Acing Rain Trim" ... They didn't do it during quali, but I have my fingers crossed for the race ;)

Rosberg isn't Vettel - if the team tells him to hold position then he'll do it. He might moan about it afterwards but he knows that when the positions are reversed that he'll get the same treatment and Hamilton will do what he's told. It's a long season and Rosberg and Hamilton are team players.
ROS did swear publicly to never do this again what he did in Malyasia 2013.

I don't think so, Google gives this

Albert Park VIC, Australia
Sun
Chance of Rain
20o C
Precipitation: 40%
Humidity: 46%
Wind: 13 km/h

and it's not a 2 day old one.
