FSAE VS F3-- 500cc

Post

I have been surprised at the design parallels between these two racing formulas separated by 60 years. Both Cooper and BRM became constructors in this formula-- progressing to F1:

Somebody named Ecclestone got his start here -- learning to drive...
Would you like to see a picture of Stirling Moss racing a 500cc Formula car? Just go to the Left--click on Marques--click on Kieft ... about the 3rd page see Stirling Moss winning at Goodwood in 1951

Nice series, but my god these cars are small! Did the drivers have their legs chopped of to fit?

Here is a page on another car that bridged the gap from the 500cc F3 cars and FASE - the Lola Formula Junior MK3 of 1961 - I'll post an article and then a lovely cut away of the car - showing the spaceframe and like the 500cc F3's - the extreme cab/forward design that didn't show up in F1 for another 20 odd years or so.
