Since I cannot find a single appropriate thread for this, lets talk about it here, shall we?
First up. Chilton. Which corner did he cut to make that time possible? =D>
What time? Where are you getting timing from? What are you talking about?SchumacherM wrote:Since I cannot find a single appropriate thread for this, lets talk about it here, shall we?

I suspect track conditions were worse than they were on saturday, so how is that possible? Timing failure?flattyre wrote:Chilton just set the fastest time of the day. Three seconds faster than his qualifying time last sunday, apparently.
He was on the super soft, 2nd fastest (Pic) was on the soft, and 3rd (Hamilton) was on the mediums.anzx wrote:I suspect track conditions were worse than they were on saturday, so how is that possible? Yeah, very strange indeed.SchumacherM wrote:SS-Med difference can't be 3 seconds and not between the worst and the best car on the grid? What on earth happened?
It seems that only a few teams on the grid can manage to run car significantly underweight, but even if they could the weight limits must be met on tests now AFAIK. Illegal bodywork is possible but to give 3 seconds a lap it must be quite radical, so if it is indeed so we would see that on photos probably.Tim.Wright wrote:Given its a test I'd say they were running the car either underweight, or with extra downforce (using illegal bodywork) in order to get perhaps a better understanding of the tyres or obtain some other data which they otherwise can't get while running at their normal pace.
You don't need to be on minimum weight during tests. You could test unlimited fuel flow or suction fans and no one would trouble you even for a moment. Compliance with the rules is purely at team's discretion.timbo wrote:It seems that only a few teams on the grid can manage to run car significantly underweight, but even if they could the weight limits must be met on tests now AFAIK.
