They were still refurbishing the museum that would house the Concorde when I visited. All I could do was peek between the doors. A photo wouldn't have shown anything significant :(
In that case, you're forgiven :D

I was asking because i love that plane. Ugly as sin, but by far one of the greatest airplanes ever built.

Tom, sorry to hijack your thread, but I didn't really want to open up another thread just for this picture:

How cheap was the real estate in the background?
EDIT

Sorry, I made a mistake. Instead of EDIT, I hit reply button....my apologies - I tried to edit the link as hot linking isn't allowed.

A propos of not very much at all, a little known factoid (at least it was passed to me as a fact!!) about the English Electric lightning (apart from the fact that is was f'ing loud) was that it was one of the first fighter/bombers to have a very thin wing section. The main landing gear had to be put away into the wings and that meant that it could only have a single tyre - twin wheels just would not fit anywhere.

The result of this was that the tyre pressure had to be extremely high (in excess of 400psi alledgedly) and this led to many of the runways on which the lightnings took off (max fuel and payload) cracking up.. as a consequence the pavement engineers responsible for construction and maintenance of military airports learned very quickly the effects of tyre pressures on pavement failure...

Used to be my favorite aircraft when I was a kid, although I did love the Vulcan also. I still remember the feeling when I saw it at Farnborough International airshow when I was 7 years old... I had never heard anything like it in my life (and it remained so right up until I went to my first GP!!).

Had to deliver some tools to Lockheed today. Thought some of you might like to see these. It is an impressive sight to see a pair of SR-71's sitting next to each other. Sorry for the low res and bad angles, I snapped them with my cell through a fence.

Sad to see the brilliant 2300kph Black bird standing in isolation :( ...it still looks from the year 3000...even the new Su-37 and Joint Strike fighters cant match it.
