Clutch BPF after races

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Clutch BPF after races

Post

Hi guys, I've always wondered why the drivers do a clutch bite point find after the race. Is it so the engineers have a reference point for the next race after a bit of wear from the launch and pitstops?

at a guess I would say just for data so they know the wear for the race, although it would be stripped down anyway and i wouldn't imagine there would be much difference between races - the only thing that should make a difference in number of pitstops?

Yeah it seems we were on the same lines, just had confirmation from Dominic Harlow on Twitter that it's just another way to track the clutch's life and set a reference for FP1 at the next race.
