Raikkonen power loss, Canada FP1. "Knocking"

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Raikkonen power loss, Canada FP1. "Knocking"

Post

Just watched FP1; early on, when Kimi reports power loss down the straights, team radio responds they're seeing "knocking."
I'm assuming the engineer was referring to detonation, and not physical friction or pistons hitting cylinder heads... :)

No real point, just thought an interesting topic discussion; could it be Ferrari's current fuel is, for lack of more insightful commentary, lacking octane to control the revised PU's combustion, and the supposed new fuel coming in Austria will solve this?

Maybe Ferrari's trying to run pump gas this weekend...
Grip is a four letter word. All opinions are my own and not those of current or previous employers.

Too much ignition advance probably.
