Given that this is bound to be a one stopper and given that all top ten drivers have to start in super softs, I don't see how you cod vary your strategy much.roadie wrote:Really sweet lap from ROS.
It really has the potential to be a great race today. I hope there is some strategy variation though!
He was about .07 up on Rosberg's first lap after 2 sectors, their best in s3 are quite close.Shrieker wrote:I'm wondering whether Hamilton's first run on q3 would've been enough for pole without Ricciardo in the picture. Does anyone have his sector times from his first q3 run ?
Sure had Hamilton put down the perfect lap, he'd be on pole. And had my aunt balls, it would be my uncle.De Jokke wrote:Jeezes guys, Lewis messed up (he confirmed it himself). Otherwise it would have been another Hamilton pole. Now Nico did the better job. Time to get over it.
Let's have a thrilling race with another double win for merc. Go Hami!
Eh, fuel saving points to being better at the start of the race, not the end.Unc1eM0nty wrote:Do you think Merc will 1 or 2 stop ?
Lewis will want to pass early so he has the first call on stratergy, he was faster on the soft tyres though, this and his fuel saving both point to Lewis being stronger towards the end of the race, the long game is not really his style though is it ? he'll be all over him like a rash, that's if he doesn't jump him at the start of course.
I'm confused who's got the pole your aunt or your unclethomin wrote:Sure had Hamilton put down the perfect lap, he'd be on pole. It's so pointless to refer to errors as the whole point of qualifying is not to make any. Quite literally, every time Lewis qualifies ahead of Nico, Nico made one or more errors and vice versa.
This year the tyres are more harder than in 2012, so tyre wear like 2012 is not expected , and don't forget we are at 80kph in pit lane this year loosing approx 2 secs more in pit-stops. I expect plain jane 1 stop for everybody with tyre preservation the key in the race.Gaz. wrote:I was wondering about the 2 stop- Mclaren made it work in 2012.
My bet would be that one or more teams breached the fuel flow limit in qualifying, and they're quietly reminding teams to stay within the limits.markn93 wrote:https://twitter.com/Pat_f1_/status/475648383945023489
Could someone please care to explain this?
Naahhh... He's the best student of the sport. I think he's a good learner, but left to his own devices to put in a hot lap i don't think he's naturally quicker. He has been using an iterative process of hamilton's data to pin point where he's slower.Kingshark wrote:I'm going to stick my neck out here: Rosberg is the fastest man in F1 over 1 lap in the dry.
The reason to why I specify dry weather, is because rain is a bit of his weakness.
Rosberg's beating Hamilton 10-9 in dry qualifying as teammates, but in the wet he is 6-1 down.
I also think that he is faster than Vettel and Ricciardo (two other worthy contenders).
