As much as I am in favour of cost control, they should have allowed 1 evolution of engine mods this year. If Alonzo is saying this http://en.espnf1.com/austria/motorsport ... 63967.html ....I can't think of anyone that has a chance. Renault are in the same situation...Then they wonder why the TV rating are so bad. If the outcome is known, why watch?

I've already resigned myself to accepting Ferrari's failure this season. I think 3 years is the norm to give the new team any hope for real gains back to the front. I'll be impressed if they kick ass from the start next year - Allison would be a genius to turn the car around in less than a year!

I doubt that Mattiaci and Fry's disagreement made Fry resign. That is just gossip and bored people stirring the pot.
I do think they argued over whether to move on the 2015 car after the Canadian GP and looks like Mattiaci won that battle.

maybe they were fighting after they realized that high temperatures are not allowing them to put upgrades in the race.

Possibly. No one outside of them knows for sure.

I also find it crazy that they told Kimi to slow down after 2 laps in the race at Austria due to high temperature problems mainly with the brakes.

Radio transmission was funny...... they told him to slow down and turn down the power, then next lap told him to go faster with the slower settings. He asks them for more power, they say no - temp problems. #-o

Could you just imagine the uproar if he had been right behind or just ahead of Alonzo?

He's the number 2 driver, etc etc .

Also, what the heck is up with Kimi's pit stops at the last 2 races having him released straight out into traffic?!

Is this why they got the other engineer for him? To see if Spagnolo was working for Alonso, or is this new guy doing it? <conspiracy hat on>

It's been very rare this year that Kimi hasn't lost places due to pitstop timing and vice-versa for Alonso. They really need to be bringing one of them in a lap earlier but I unfortunately believe their is an ultimate preference for Alonso's strategy so Kimi often gets the shaft. They can't bring Kimi in a lap early because of his chance to undercut Alonso and they can't bring Alonso in a lap early because that's not the optimum strategy. I understand giving preference to the race leading driver and near mid-season giving preference to the leading championship driver but has Kimi ever been pitted first this season? Just starting to feel badly for Kimi. First 3-4 races had damaging first lap contact. Leading Alonso in spain and team undercuts him. Running 3rd in monaco and clipped by a Marussia. Canada ecu malfunction causes spin leading to lost places. Austria on lap 2 engine is turned down and brakes are critical and they leave him out past the pirellis falling off the cliff. Add to that the F14T is known to have one of the weakest front ends. It's well known Kimi needs a pointy car and also well known that Alonso prefers a decent chunk of understeer. With all these factors in mind I think Kimi is being unfairly scrutinized. I like Kimi and hope my view isn't too clouded with bias.

I don't remember Kimi pitting before Alonso all this year. You have a point.

Also, Alonso came in to pit before Kimi when Kimi was leading because Alonso said his tyres were gone. Yet they never did that for Kimi. Sigh.

I think people that are judging Kimi based on this year don't know much because this car was made for Alonso and we have to wait until next year to really see the true comparison, or as close as we'll get. Kimi's car at Austria also suffered from oversteer vs none for Alonso.

I don't understand why people would think Ferrari is out there trying to f*ck Kimi..
Kimi is very much loved within the team and they want nothing but the best for him.. unfortunately this year isn't (again) a very good year for Ferrari but nevertheless they want both drivers to score as much points as possible; the only problem is that the current car isn't very well suited for Kimi's driving style.. and Alonso is again showing why many think he is one of the greatest.

Kimi needs a car with a very good mechanical grip ( especially at the fornt ) to drive as precise as possible and carry as much speed throught the corner and also accelerate asap.
This years car is poor at the front if they increase the front downforce the rear steps out much quicker + PU unit power delivery increases that problem
Lotus car last year was exactly the opposite ( before they messed around with LWB car )

You're right LWB= more stable and understeering car, and KR doesn't like it also !
