Number of cars

Post

I should know this by now - but I don't. Are teams permitted to have spare cars? Of course that begs the question of what is a car? After a crash, due to the modular build, cars are often back shortly. But suppose a driver crashes a car beyond repair before race day - even during qualifying. Can the team bring on a back-up car and start last? I thought of this as Toto Wolff's wife was running this morning. What car was she driving?

they are no longer allowed to bring a spare car aka a T car. They do bring many parts to rebuild from a crash. I am not sure if they bring a spare tub though.

I would suspect they are bringing a lot of spare parts to a GP, enough to rebuild a very damaged car.
PS: Miss Wolff was in Bottas's car for her practise. I think they only remove her number 41 number sticker and repaste number 77 for Bottas when he drives the car.
I keep wondering if she and Toto has some sort of agreement to not talk of work so that they do not accidently leak some info to the other team, well apart from the usual day talk if you know what I mean...

Last time I checked they were still allowed a spare tub, but it can only be prepared when it is actually needed.
