Why is Hamilton favourite again? I tried that in some other thread but only few are obvious for me and we know how it ended in clearest case Canada:
- Germany - 50/50 maybe slightly ROS?
- Hungary - probably Ham
- Spa & Monza - Hamilton had his bad set up for unorthodox tracks (I'm stressing HIS) moments there but he can also win, Rosberg should be OK on either
- Singapore - 50/50 or slightly HAM
- Japan - 50/50? Neither specialist,
- Russia - ?
- USA - 50/50?
- Brazil - From memory I have no clear picture so based on 2013 ROS
- Abu Dhabi - I thought Hamilton but Rosberg was faster in 2013 - double points! ;-)

Re: Ham < Alo everyone's talking about 2012 (easier to blame a car) but 2010 was a bigger chance. After Spa: HAM 182 VET 151. Monza - win (at worst 2nd) + 25, Singapore 3rd I think? + 15; VETT Monza + 10 Sing +18 - 222-179; Korea + Japan + Brazil = RB unbeatable but one DNF (Ham 2nd there) and then the last race Abu Dhabi with comparable car. Huge chance wasted by Hamilton.
"Probably" on a track where he's won 4 times? :P

Just putting together some qualifying statistics of 2014. Whenever qualifying went smooth, where neither made mistakes and did their best, it was Lewis who has qualified ahead of Nico. Australia, Malaysia (both wet) and Spain (Dry) were the races where Lewis started on pole where neither made any mistake. Other than these races, Lewis made mistakes in 4 qualifying and all those times, Nico started ahead of him. Well, Monaco was a different story altogether. :-) In Canada and Austria, he completed Sector 2 with a purple times before screwing it in Sector 3. In Britain, it was Brain Dead.

So far it is clear that, whenever Lewis has put it together correct, he has qualified ahead of Nico. There is only one instance of one driver starting behind and winning and that was in Bahrain (Lewis). One could only hope that neither men make any mistakes to see how they stand head to head.

I remember 75 points because of the three wins he lost. Singapore, Abu and Brazil.
That put him 15 points behind Vettel not removing any points from Vettel or any other driver.

Bahrain - Slow stops 8th
Spain - not enough fuel for sample - 24th to start, managed to only be 8th
Europe - would have won, but slow stops + crash with Pastor - no points
Germany - Puncture - no points
Belgium - Grosjean brainfarts - no points
Singapore - Gearbox failure while leading - no points
Korea - Astro Turf aero upgrade - 1 point
Abu Dhabi - Gearbox failure while leading - no points
Brazil - Hulk clumsiness - no points

I think it's almost 200 points, if not 200 points.

Sorry, I misremembered – 155 was the conclusion I came to, not 200.

Well, I thought Canada would be an easy win for Hamilton, so it won't say anything:
GER - too close to call
HON - HAM
SPA- HAM
MONZA - ROS
SIN - ROS
JAP - HAM
RUS - no idea
USA - HAM
BRA - too close to call
ABU - too close to call

I hope they wrap up the constructors by then, because I want to see how they compare with no data sharing!

Yeah, I had a feeling someone put it all in writing somewhere someday. 200 just seemed excessive.

If they get four more one/twos in a row from now on. Which is likely. Constructors will be rapped up at Singapore. Then its game on.

Really whats the math for that? I thought it would have taken a lot longer to mathematically lock down the championship.

I just did some quick math, and if Merc goes 1/2 and RBR goes 3/4 for the next 6 races Merc wins the championship even if they don't score a point after that and RBR goes 1/2 the rest of the season.

Mer: 584 pts
RBR: 545 pts

I don't know it was a rough guess. But they are scoring one, twos every race and if they continue to do that. Red bull had it rapped up in India last year they only won four races in the first half of the year, Mercedes have won 8 so far. Plus the fact there's an extra race in the first half of the year, it will be around there. Singapore, japan time I think. Then I think the team should be split and game on.

Edit - So japan if both teams are perfect, which they wont be. Thanks for the maths though, so a good part of the year they wont have to think about the team only themselves.

Can go quite quick if Red Bull continues to feel the pressure from behind with other teams taking points from them.
And of course for Mercedes, that the car is reliable but thankfully at least one car has finished the race in every event and never lower then 2nd place.

Will they stop data sharing just because they've won the Constructor's Championship? Won't continued sharing help with their development and therefore help next year's car?
