If they merge that part where the two sections of the track are close together and made it two way traffic, THAT would "spice up the racing" quite a bit, one would think. :o And seeing as its a city circuit, perhaps they should be required to parallel park when they come into the pits? :?

Oh, Formula One, my Formula One. How I weep for thee. This could be a low point in the whole sad slide of our beloved sport into mediocrity and irrelevance.

That looks like crap yes. The greece circuit though looked amazing by comparison.

This one is from the FIA press release, looks a tiny bit different like Turn 7 for example.

Might be some good overtaking though, track is made up of long straights into tight turns.

Indeed back straight might be too easy, its 1km long and 8 lanes wide into a 90 degree left hander. With DRS...

Interesting that the pits are at the end of a long straight... might cause accidents if cars are breaking early to pit while someone is offline behind them trying to overtake... Id also assume that's the DRS zone..

The straight itself is over 1km long. If you include what it probably a flat out kink you are looking at a 1,5km long straight.

350m before kink, 1200m after kink.

And for some reference, Shanghai International Circuit has a straight that´s 1,1km long.

Yup, that long straight looks like it was deliberately included for DRS. Turns 17, 18 & 19 are relatively easy, so foot flat to the floor from T17, perhaps a slight lift at T19?

T8 to T12 might be interesting. A driver braking late on the inside of T7 might be able to force the car ahead slightly offline and that'd mean they might be close enough to set up the possibility of squeezing space in the sequence of corners from T8 to T12? (oops... 'might' twice in one sentence is a symptom of wishful thinking)

Of course it all depends on the width of the track, if there's not enough width then we'll have Valencia Mk2.

Yea 17 will no doubt be flat, and kinda hoping 18, 19 is not flat. Otherwise it´s just ridiculous how long that straight becomes.

Just downloaded Google earth and had a look, definitely some cool buildings and stuff but is GE accurately reproducing the height of the earth?

Because it doesn´t look particularly flat from this image.
(The building behind the big one is essentially the pit area, Government house on the map i provided)

Width is so varying it's hard to predict anything. There's 7 lanes on some parts of the start/finish straight and 5 on others. Run from T1 to T2 is 5 lanes to 3 lanes. And those are the widest parts of the track.

Turns 18-19 look like the Masta Kink on old Spa! Overall, looks like a nice circuit for overtaking.

I picked a street name from Google map then searched for that name on google images.

This is standing at T16 looking back up the track. I think the red bus is on the outside of T15, that dome (mosque?) is on the inside of T15. So there's a rapid change of gradient on the exit of that corner.

Nice one, could be a little bit more interesting then what the general layout suggests. I´m in the process of making a gif showing the height map on a graph as you go around the map, should be up soon.

Sections from T6 to T7 and from T19 and T20 will be on the same road with a barrier in between. So probably 3 lanes each. 6-7m.

As an alternative, pick a business name from google maps and search for that. There are usually external shots for hotels. The "Boutique Palace" is at T8/9.

This is standing at T8/9 looking back at T7, cars will come towards you.

Then looking the other way, the tower forms a left kink for T10.
