  • Red Bull are clearly committed to their young driver program, so they don't really count.
  • You could count McLaren with their having tried Perez and Magnussen, but Perez had money, and Magnussen was in their driver program.
  • Ferrari have had Alonso, Massa, and Kimi. Next year maybe Vettel. All clearly better than Hulk except MAYBE Massa.
  • Merc have had Schumi, Rosberg, and Hamilton. All better.
  • Williams up until this year haven't really even been a team Hulk would consider an upgrade from Force India or Sauber. But even now Massa and Bottas are at least as good as Hulk.
  • Lotus, maybe. But they also had Kimi, Maldonado has a ton of cash, and Grosejan has sponsor connections.
McLaren did pass on Hülkenberg last year. They said he was too big and heavy and that was that. I guess this also means they won't consider him this year.

Same with Ferrari, it was either him or Kimi. This was widely discussed in the press, and most important for that story's authenticity, Hülkenberg also confirmed it. And honestly, with Kimi being outscored 3 to 1 by Alonso, Hülkenberg might have been the better choice, but who knows...

And Williams, as you said, wasn't an option. However, Massa should really consider himself lucky he's got a contract for more than a year, because it's suddenly a desirable seat and he's getting utterly crushed by Bottas. He's ALWAYS got an excuse and nothing is ever his fault. That can't go on well for long.

Perez = 3 DNFS and one DNS (Gearbox Malaysia)

Hulkenberg = 1 DNF

Considering that, also consider this... Perez has finished the race quicker than Hulk 7 to 5 times. Also finished on the Podium in Bahrain which Hulk hasn't managed to do.

I'd say Perez is beating Hulkenberg, and again, wonder why Mclaren, Ferrari etc. would want him when Perez has been the better driver this season.

Last year a lot of the F1 pundits were raving about Hulkenberg but this year the same people have been extremely quiet about him, largely because he's having just as anonymous a season as Raikonnen for example.
Agreed. There is another batch of rumours that Force India are falling in love with Perez more and more everyday. Sure Hulk is consistent but the heady heights that Perez has achieved have won them over. Perez is the one who the team likes. More colourful and more gutsy!

That would be an amazing combo imo, I think JB would be well suited to endurance racing!

Where would Button go in WEC? Unless Porsche and or Toyota decide to run three cars I don't see any space for him.

Rumours eh? Let's go with that... FI aren't waiting on Ferrari to confirm Checo:

I'm sure the Agnelli family, more importantly John Elkann would like to retain the services of Fernando Alonso until 2016. But again, we'll wait and see :)
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Porsche will definitely run 3 cars in Le Mans and there is also Nissan. So there are at least 4-6 seats for a LMP1.

I don´t get the issue you have with Massa .He has dealt with Alonso far better than Kimi at Ferrari and with Hindsight one has to acknowledge Alonsos raw talent ,And when it comes to making excuses Massa really had at least three race finishing accidents this year he could not have avoided and has been let down by technical isssues as well so the points situation is not a fair reflection of the performance coming from the two drivers.
williams chose Massa because of his background and possibly because of Smedleys endorsement.Make no bones about it he is a nice guy to have in your team and he is a quick drivercapable of scoring pole positions (he has delivered that already) Scoring podiums (done that as well) and winning races(pending).Sure if the team does make the next step 2015 and challenge for wins he must be delivering but that´s the same for every driver in formula 1 .

compare to Checo who had at least one golden chance with Sauber to bag a win -he lost the chicken game to Alonso.. this is telling me all about his future.A winner wins races when there is the sniff of a chance. Perez is the guy to take absurde risks in these situations instead of creating the opportunity for a pass .

I think that just like Massa shined under the hard tyres, Perez's driving style gets elaborated by the current ones.

According to the BBC article, he's talking to Porsche.

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Sergio has had a lot of bad luck but he's also been the guy who most positions recovers compared to Hulk. Hulk if he qualifies 9th he might finish 8th. Sergio if he qualifies 12th he might finish 7th.. on the same car in a same race week end.. For me Hulk is too much one dimensional. Sergio is more gutsy but seems to have a lot of bad luck.. so sergio perez is a risk. If you want a number two type drivers who's not gonna risk for the win just do a decent enough win Hulk is your man. Sergio same car same week end will risk more for a better finish. But hulk is. A safer bet. Kinda boring but safer but great drivers.. just my opinion I'm guessing Ferrari will take Hulk depending on Alonso and Vettel/Kimi not a bad move..

Force India keep both drivers, outside of the top teams they have the best driver line up, the consistency of Hulkenberg along with the amazing races that Perez has now and then along with Mexican money. One of the reasons I like Force India is because of the driver choices they made last year, by saving Perez after the mess McLaren left him in and giving Hulkenberg a drive after the top teams looked over him. They appeared to be one of the few teams that actually looked past money and looked at talent in the silly season last year.

Perez also has a knack for saving his tires and still being able to go fast.

Perez's ability with tire saving and still driving fast. Is what allows him to move up the field from adverse situations like in Singapore to make one example..
