If third cars happen, the third driver has to be a rookie and will be non-points scoring. So Marciello & Verstappen.
That's been said repeatedly, and probably will be several more times. Still won't stop folk claiming the Alo / Vet / Rai dream team is coming...

Do you think Alonso would care?

What if he did get the 3rd car at Merc, and irrespective of position not meaning anything, he scored more points (if they were counted) over the course of the season than either Rosberg or Hamilton. Do you think people won't regard him as world champion?

In any event it doesn't matter he is going to Mclaren

Isn't that non-scoring in the constructors championship? I'm pretty sure the 3rd car would be eligible for drivers championship points.

Wonder why Button is not talking to Lotus, that should be a good seat (may not pay even a quarter of what he gets now but still he gets a good car)

WEC is for 40 year olds and GP2 champion

If it comes to 3 car teams next year, McLaren should jump at the chance.

Effectively it means you have a test car at every race weekend and development will be much quicker.

Not sure if there is a rule against that ?

Take this with a pinch of salt but I just read someone in a forum that Eric Boullier will reveal the 2015 lineup thursday before Abu Dhabi.

Alonso wants to take to Mclaren Pedro de la Rosa, Andrea Stella and Massimo Rivola.

pd: Ok it comes from Marca.
PD2: He asked for Button to stay for helping in development.

He doesn't have a separate thread regarding his future and the silly season.

''The curious case of Jenson Button'' was a thread about Jensons trouble driving the Mclaren 2012 around Monaco Canada time - it was created in 2012, and it became the places where anything about Jenson (unrelated to silly season) was discussed.

It should not be locked in my opinion.

Good news for McLaren, probably also for Button.

Fair enough, title edited.
it weren't actually a dig at you, I just meant in general. See it no end in british newspapers about potential transfers (soccer/football) and nothing happens.

some sources have been saying this and some have been saying that. in reality know one knows because no one important has said it.

Usually I have found Autosport to be a very credible source. I believe it now, just hope Button stays put.

Yep it's basically McLaren info in this case. We'll see who is making driver choices when they announce the second one.

Who will have a better car in 2015 Ferrari or McLaren? I would lean towards Ferrari but it will be hard to tell with drivers configurations if it's close.
