It's really an exiting and busy week end! 55 cars on track at Le Mans & the US GP :P .I wish every week end could be like that...

Aaaargh. Now I hate you zac! I was VERY close to go this year, with a place ready for me in a colleague's car, but it turned out I have to help my father here.

Does someone knows if Motorsport TV will show the race like last year?

Does anybody know why the Porsche RS Spyders are not entered in Lemans? My understanding was that they were to do a season in ALMS before racing Lemans.... they have already completed their season but are still not entered. Any news would be great!

I believe that Porsche did not want to participate in a race where their cars have no chance of winning.

Anyway... like I do every year... I try to watch as much of the 24 as humanely possible... it's probably the only thing I'll ever park myself in front of a TV for. I want Corvette to win again... and see Peugeot take the flag.

It looks like Adrian Newey is one of Team AF Corse Drivers
Long experience has taught me this about the status of mankind with regards to matters requiring thought. The less people know and understand about them, the more positively they attempt to argue concerning them; while on the other hand, to know and understand a multitude of things renders men cautious in passing judgement upon anything new. - Galileo..

Porsche has stated that private teams were free to race the RS Spyders in 2007 in Le Mans, LMES and ALMS. So, aparently, the issue is that they have no costumers in Europe... Penske had an invitation and turned it down, also.

And yesterday he made himself remarked after he accidentally pushed the fire extiguisher's button going out of the pits, what caused them to loose a lot of time cleaning...

Great qualy session yesterday, let's hope that today's even better (even though someone must tell them that qualy for a 24 hour race means nothing - the battle between Audi and Peugeot in the dark with a wet track was little short of plain stupid!). Shame on the GT1 Lamborghini that was destroyed beyond repair, though - we'll not be seing him again this week...

I think that's not exactely what explain their absence at LM, but rather what they answeared when asked why they stick to LMP2 and don't give a try at LMP1 to fight Audi & Peugeot (I admit it would be nice! three way ex winners fight!).

They said of course that the equivalence diesel/petrol is a joke, you need a diesel to win with these rules, and Porsche being Porsche, they aren't interested at all in promoting diesel. Heck, I hope we'll never see a Porsche diesel :!:

But I don't understand why Penske boycott LM...

And yes, cheers for the corvette (be it C5 or C6 btw, it seems the former is very close to the later in terms of pace ), although I have a soft spot for Oreca's saleen too.

Shame for the Lambo!

Are the Aston's in Le Mans because I know they withdrew from the ALMS series and Corvette is having trouble finding competition in it
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

Go McNish!!! Its really odd, I live about 30km from his home town, he has relatives at my old school, yet the majority of people round here have never heard of him, despite winning the most prestigious race in the world, many big American races, many big European races and piloting a vehicle that is pioneering technology which as a direct result is now being used in road cars! Crazy.

What happened to the Lambo? anybody have a video?

Yes, the Astons are engaged in Le Mans, like they have been in the LMES.

Concerning the Lambo, the conditions were tricky last night -it rained early in the session- and Marco Apicella crashed hard, that's all I know. I don't even know if it was caught on TV, since I wasn't home last night.
