The mobile chrome browser on the iphone is different. iOS luckily allows to block tracing from seperate apps. Google probably will still gather browser data, but the way iOS is restricting access, unlike Android, it's a whole different matter then the desktop browser.
I personally also use FF and am glad about it. There was a time FF really was a terrible browser, very instable. They luckily got on top of that.
