Mercedes AMG F1 W06

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The issue is also that it isn't written in the regulations - it looks to be a Technical Directive.

How can that be legal? How they are going to mount a real camera?

The rules specify that you must provide mountings that will either be filled with a real camera or a fake camera, at the FIA's request. For testing, they're all fake cameras.

Nice spot! They have tucked in and slimmed the rear cover a bit and formed a turning vane at the cooling exhaust exit.

Wir haben Neuigkeiten von Mercedes. Entweder streikt das Getriebe oder der Motor. Hamilton sitzt in Zivil im Motorhome.

They've confirmed a Hybrid system failure on Twitter.

If they've been using the same engine since the start of the test, it's not worrying. It'll be getting close to the end of it's life surely.

Technical Directives are enforceable.

Think back to the 2014 Australian GP and Red Bull

Shorter exhaust pipe too.

Yes but if the technical directive is insufficient, it gets difficult.

Remember, they act as clarifications on the technical regulations. They can't be used to alter existing rules, only to clarify procedures or amibigious rules.

I`d say it looks shorter and lower...

With regards to the cameras personally i think the FIA should make a regulation/directive stating all position 2 cameras/housings must be directly attached to the side of the nose without any arms.
