Even this afternoon is pushing the time limit.
I don't think it's pushing the time limit. Heck, Sauber could easily sign 4 or 5 more drivers between this afternoon and the race.

Maybe Sauber could ask if Bernie would help to pay off vdG and possibly Sutil, and credit/debit (whatever the correct term is) that to their future winnings ? Heck if they are really desperate they could add interest too.

Could be put as a possible arrangement/proposal/settlement through arbitration, however judging by last years results of 0 points scored, that might not be a strong proposal and the main driving factor behind VDG is he just wants to race.

If the car is quick, reliable and a points scorer, then it could be a possibility. However, I don't think anyone can look into the crystal ball & figure out how many points Sauber will score this season, i.e prize money, and offer it to VDG as a payment.

That offer will be as hollow as their agreement for VDG's race seat.

Auto motor und sport is reporting
that VdG is not holding a valid super licence that may prevent him from racing anyway... what a mess.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

why vdG didn't prepare his superlicense before? it doesn't have to wait for anything right?

The team was supposed to do that for him earlier
From earlier in the day

Update 01:22
'@GvanderGarde's lawyer tells court that team is responsible for superlicence, ie @SauberF1Team's lawyer was wrong...
— Adam Cooper (@adamcooperF1) 12 maart 2015

Update 01:26
'We are confident that we can get a licence' says VDG lawyer. Adds that if he can't, 'so be it,' but that should not impact decision

No idea. :D but following reports, the application for the super licence was sent in on March 11th (yesterday). Technically, in special circumstances it can be done quicker, but not on that short notice. So while VdG wins, he may still not be able to race. This is far from over...

Threatening prison is very much going to make a bad relationship worse...

We still don't have confirmation that Sauber intends to co-operate with the court order though?
