McLaren Honda will run its cars with a revised livery at the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix. The team appears to be set to continue with this livery throughout the remainder of the season.

I don't like it at all. I didn't like the previous and i don't like this. It just looks so plane and unimaginative but at the same time complicated. It looks like they've said how many times on one car can we put the mclaren logo.
The 29 was plain, but plain and simple and it kind of worked
I agree with you regarding the marlboro. Not the orange. Mclaren said they would go to a mclaren livery and that would have been it. Orange is the mclaren racing colour, it is in everything else, so they could have made a point and used that colour in some way.
Though I'd like to see a McLaren with an orange base for paint, I think there are bigger things at play here. I suspect its got something to do with standardizing their brand recognition not only in F1 but throughout the company. Ferrari has their horse, BMW their medallion, Mercedes their 3 pointed star, Audi their 4 circles, Jaguar their big cat.. etc. McLaren has their swoosh but it isn't as recognizable as any of the aforementioned brands. I think they want to move on from using 'McLaren with a swoosh at the end' logo and just go with a 'swoosh', so if the car were orange you wouldn't be able to see the swoosh.
well you could use there logo just with a different background around it. They won't be as recognisable because they are less mainstream (more specialist) than the ones you have mentioned. They are quiet new to the market with there own (non merc) cars anyway? I may be wrong.
But surely this new livery makes it look more of just the design than logo anyway?
Oh God that looks absolutely awful. It looks like they asked a 5 year old to do a quick job on a new McLaren livery and he just colored it black with a few McLaren "swoosh"' and a few red lines.
The previous livery was much better, it wasn't shouting at you from whatever direction you look at. The rocket-red line on the nose was a typical McLaren thing and gave some good contrast and detail to the overall design.
But hey, if more "swoosh" makes the car go faster...
