McLaren Honda will run its cars with a revised livery at the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix. The team appears to be set to continue with this livery throughout the remainder of the season.

McLaren always struck me as a more "geometric" than a "freehand" type team.
Hate how they've taken their logo and smeared and squashed it always from sunday. The curves on the side pods are a complete mess.
Same goes for the new "arrow" on the front... much like the yellow afterthought on the front of the Sauber... just looks like no real consideration was made to how things line up.
it's official. I ain't fan of Macca no more. Sorry guys, this is just too rediculous.
It's absolutely hideous. They've managed to worsen the already not very pretty early livery, that's crazy.
I don't know what design people are over @ Mclaren, but they really don't know what they're doing.
it indeed looks like a 'evolved' Hispania livery, which, in this case, is quite a bad thing. The random slamming of
Mclaren swoosh logo's all over the car makes it even worse. Where is the grey? it's black fcol......
Thanks Mclaren for getting my hopes up again. Glad i kept the brake on it after last debacle but managing to still
unimpress me has left me completely abandoning Mclaren as my favourite team. I don't know what team this is,
but it isn't Mclaren of the past.
So many chances, so many opportunities, and this? wow. just wow. it's so bad it's just shamefull.

No idea why they have done this. Macca PR is just aweful the last 2 years. the front of the 2015 car was very nice and striking, do some work on the back jesus christ. If you build it up like this just re-work the malboro colours or do something classic, everyone will love it. Who is this helping?????
Saying that, i'dlove to see the swoosh above the front suspension moved nearer the cockpit, well above the '14' as much as possible. Any photoshoppers? :p
Only thing i dont understand is the second red line in front, but othervise if there would be a new white written sponsor on the sidepods and on front wing, the car would not look bad at all....they could honor the SAP or Esso on the sidepods, or simply names of the drivers or their numbers
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

42 years ago. They ran an orange livery in races for about 8 years or so.
They ran a red/white livery for about 23 years.
Not to mention that McLaren now is absolutely nothing like the McLaren that raced those orange cars. It's pointless to relate yourself to something that is nothing alike to what you are now.

Rocket red is clearly a brand colour, as its in the logo. Their race car versions of their road cars seem to be a mixture of grey / black and orange though...
Really, this was the time to establish a clear, new mclaren livery / brand identity. They haven't done a good job at this, not least because their Twitter account keeps hinting at red and white cars! Personally I think a Marlboro looking car would be a bad idea, but clearly it excites a lot of people, so getting them hopeful about something that won't happen is just daft.
Maybe they expected to get a title sponsor so weren't really thinking about what to do to the livery if they didn't. I don't buy this sudden reflection issue with the chrome when they've had it for years...

Even outside the company the last orange car was a Mclaren F1 GTR made in 1994. 20 years ago.
Edit: the 12c i guess came in orange as well. But still point is valid in my opinion.
Mclaren has no identity anymore. It can´t be compared to some other British brands, Ferrari or any of the German teams when it comes to the association to(of?) a color. They had a couple orange cars in the beginning, a very long time ago.

isn't it ironic Hispania actually had more sponsors? and frankly even looked better then this new livery of Mclaren?

hmm, for some reason i though there gt cars were orange. My mistake.
Anyway, they missed the boat the first time round to create something that would define them as Mclaren and they bring out something looking like a watered down Merc/Vodafone scheme. And they have another go at it and this is what they come up with.
