The speed trap figures for fastest McLaren in quali:
AUS: 312.8
MAL: 313.1
CHN: 318.3
BAH: 320.9
ESP: 326.9

What's of real value here is that the speed trap in Spain is after a far shorter straight than Bahrain or China. I beleive that Bahrain has the longest straight on the calender. I could tell you for certain but f1.com took that information off there site

I'm not doubting that the engine is getting better and more powerful, in fact it clearly is but in Spain mclaren did have a skinny rear wing on, which is less drag, which means more too end speed

Mclaren are getting impatient with Honda

"A couple of races ago I was talking to one of the (McLaren) engineers and they told me they were impatient with the Japanese.

"They said the Japanese want to try everything two or three times, but the McLaren engineers tell them they know it will not work and it's better to go another way," Jorda said on Spanish radio Cadena Ser.

Well you need to consider that is Carmen Jordá who get the information. If she start to asking you questions with her spanish accent you will sign like a soprano my friend, so we need to give some credit to this information.

The funny and more interesting of all this situation that McLaren-Honda is facing right now is that almost every entity or person outside the team wants that this project fail and the relationship between Alonso and team breakdown sooner than later.

Wouldn't say Hondas problem is at the end of the straight, it's how long it's taking to get there. Top speed doesn't mean much.

If you watch live timing you'll see that they're consistently 12km/h+ slower through every speed trap minus the one on the long straight.
