The 2009 spec cars were close to 700 hp, so for much of the straight they are down on power compared to 2009.

So, let's see: Let's assume 550HP from the ICE.
Difference would be 150HP or 110kW. 5,5MJ would give you those 150HP for 50s. That should roughly cover the Full Throttle time. So Overall, the effective Energy available should be roughly similar.

Interesting that the NISMO was 29 seconds behind the P1 cars but registered the highest top speed of all cars.

Why are the radiator & intercooler blocked off like that? Are they temporary protective covers for garage use?

The Porsches are sandbagging at 326kph down the straight, and already under last year's pole time. I think they'll be doing 3:16 next Thursday.
