I may be on the market, but this thread isn't helping me a lot to see what's good

You won't go wrong with a Samsum Galaxy... S4, S5, S6. You can pretty much ignore all reviews and just buy. It will be good.Steven wrote:Wouldn't this thread be a bit more interesting if you also add pros and cons of your phones?

Apple is for pansies.Mr. Fahrenheit wrote:Avoid the S4/S5 like the plague. Found a range of hardware issues relating to those devices; Samsung went cheap on the video encoder for one. The S6 seems a much better device. Don't believe the nonsense about any phones bending on either side of the iOS/Android fence... metal tends to give way when you manhandle it.
I use an iPhone 6 for work/play, best phone I've ever had. Was wary of the size going from an iPhone 5s (perfect form factor) but it's head and shoulders above it in terms of speed, battery life and screen. If you want absolute cutting edge, avoid iPhone 6+ : same CPU/GPU but more pixels to draw so your hardware cycles are going to be diluted. This only becomes apparent in higher-end graphics apps but it's still a consideration. Camera is identical on 6/6+, despite Apple's cunning marketing to showcase the 6+ as the one with the fancy motion stabilisation.
If you're going to get Android, stay mainstream. Developers always have iOS as the lead-platform then throw an Android version together either along-side or after iOS release. The lack of testing across all Android devices inevitably results in some edge-cases being missed.

I don't know what people do to them!
pfff....! What do pros and cons matter if you have something that is this sexy in the palm of your hands?Steven wrote:Wouldn't this thread be a bit more interesting if you also add pros and cons of your phones?

S6 is superior in almost every way, except for speakers, and even those are not behind. As for expendable storage... have fun with it's blazing fast speedsPhil wrote:pfff....! But yeah, I guess you're right... so, ...
pros:
- pure sex
- build quality
- offers sdcard slot for memory extension
- cheaper than the main competitor (Galaxy S6/Edge)
- best speakers in any phone
- professional design with practically no bloat ware that is pre-installed
- good battery life (but not exceptional) = ~4h+ SOT (Screen-On-Time) / Standby easily 30h+ depending on SOT usage
- very good front-camera
- nice LCD screen at 1920x1080 (yes it's lower than the new Galaxys but who needs more in a 5" screen?)
- very stable, no crashes, no faults - very reliable
- HTC is quick to update Android updates
cons:
- rear camera not as good as Samsung S6/iPhone6 but far from bad (issue a bit with focus at time)
- gets rather warm under load or direct sunlight
- not as many accessories as iPhones or Galaxy
In short, if I was looking for a Android phone, I wouldn't look past the HTC M9. iPhone is a different matter as these phones are way different so harder to compare, but like for like, or Android with Android, I'd chose the M9 over any Samsung phone any time again.
A smart person actually checking out some reviews and tests will run as far away for M9 as possible. There's a reason HTC is on a downwards spiral. In short, if I was looking for a Android phone, I wouldn't look past the HTC M9.
He offers no arguments as to why he would chose M9 over ANY samsung phone. This is how you know the guy is ignorant on the matter and has a fanboy tinted glasses on his head.Phil wrote:I'd chose the M9 over any Samsung phone any time again.
