The Corvette is trying to look like a Ferrari not the other way around. And I don't like that Corvette for the very same reason.

I don't see your point. There C7 doesn't look like any Ferrari that was launched before it. Maybe you think so because the C7 looks more refined than any Corvette before it, but IMO it still retains some of that 'vulgarness' that an american car should have.
On the other hand, vulgar looks don't work at all for a Ferrari. Not that I don't like that 'madness', I just don't think it goes well with the brand.

Its design and proportions just aren't corvett-y and refined isn't the word I would use for it. Also f12 precedes c7.

I would go as far to say that the 458 is the only good looking car Ferrari have made in the last 15 years.
