Obviously but try telling that to fanatics. Firstly Wolff lets Hamilton to say (Monaco '14 baseless accusations, Rosberg not a German, all the strategy nonsense and car excuses after losing) and do anything (Japan and USA pushing off or '14 Bahrain, choosing stupid strategy in AD) and then he suddenly finds atmosphere problematic to the point of fake public warnings.

it would be easier to judge what he means if the good team principal Wolff explained better what he understands as a bad atmosphere with some examples from material world, names and actions. It's much more convenient to spit out some vague weekly PR releases that lump both drivers together. Last incident I recall from Rosberg's side was Spa '14 collision for which he was publicly scolded multiple times and received internal unknown punishment. It must be it then or it's about simply being faster and Hamilton along with Merc management panicking about it.

iotar you are the only one in this world who thinks Toto like Lewis more than Nico. Clear as day that Lauda likes Lewis and Toto prefers Nico.

I think Toto likes whichever one is winning them the championship to be honest.

I think Toto's (and pretty much everyone in F1) media personality is about genuine as a heart foundation sticker on a packet of marzipan.

Hamilton sells sports cars with his celebrity life style and 3x WDC. They sack Hamilton and then Rosberg wins the WDC, think that's gonna go down well for publicity? Don't think so.

Not a fanatic, but it's clear as day as to which "brand" is worth the most to Mercedes' marketing team.

I find people projecting rather 'fanboyish' opinions onto professionals to be pretty bizarre at best. I mean really, does anyone seriously think team principals are spending their time trying to think up ways to undermine Driver B against Driver A? It's ridiculous.

If they sacked Hamilton, do you really think he would stay out of a team for long? McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull et all would have a massive bidding war to land his services, then Mercedes would face the potential humiliation of Hamilton winning the WDC in a rival car.

If anyone goes, it will be Rosberg, and it will be for performance reasons.

If Hamilton left, he wouldn't go back to mclaren (too sociable for Ron), Ferrari wouldn't pair him with vettel, and red bull may not be competitive. His options are to stay and get through problems at merc, or go to a competitive Renault or someone in a couple of years because his options are more limited than it appears.

You mistook me, I was postulating that if Mercedes dispensed with Hamilton, every team would try to land him. Granted Ferrari may have problems with Vettel, but given the chance, they'd try it, McLaren would as well, even though Hamilton may say no etc.

I can't see Mercedes getting rid though, he's too much of a money maker.

I remember back when Webber was leading Vettel in the charge for the first WC, I was in a studio in London and they had Red Bull's in-house magazine in the lobby... on the front cover was Vettel being hailed as Red Bull's star with multiple features. Webber didn't even get a mention. It seemed pretty clear where corporately Red Bull stood in terms of who they wanted to win them their championship even when in the F1 arena itself it was more neutral between the drivers. I'd say performing isn't necessarily always enough with a top team... sometimes you have to make sure you're "their man", too.

They will not get rid of Hamilton unless he creates a terrible and unsolvable problem. They don't trust Rosberg enough to be sure that he could win the championship. If Rosberg was a little bit better, they might have the guts to fire Hamilton.

If Hamilton gets Fired I bet you Renault would have the balls to fire Maldonado and take Ham they would probably get him cheap because it would be either them or nothing with all other teams having all their line ups set. But who knows maybe Vettel run to Mercedes and Hamilton to Ferrari. I want them to Fire Hamilton just to see how things shake up.... hahaha..

i dont know if i should but i feel i should remind the crowd about Rosberg's dirty tricks in the 2014 season,
which caused a whole flood of bickering off and on track.

so, i have little doubt who would be fired unless the neccesary step Merc took in their next season competitor renders hamilton unable to perform from it, which i assume not to be a reasonable theory.
