Why dont you get your facts right

It was Hamilton who disgracefully threw the hat at Rosberg. It was absolute spiteful behavior, had any one else done we would not have heard the end of it and would have been crucified as Pastor

maybe we'll see pastor race at le mans?
the possibilities must drive him crazy: 60 cars to crash into
:D

on a serious note i feel for that guy. i didn't like him as a driver, but i wouldn't wish anybody to get his/her dreams crushed like that

The fact that months later we are discussing about this HAT shows exactly my point: F1 is robotic, generic and boring. Such thing as this hat would pass unnoticed less than 20 years ago. I was just now watching a video about Belgium-98 and remembering M. Shu madly going to McLaren boxes after his accident with Coulthard. And, please, I'm not saying this is a good thing.

The thing is that Maldonado indeed had some spice to the races.

20 years ago there was no internet. there was no discussion on hats because we did not see as much as what happens as we do now. the only discussions would be about the races and qualy and if lucky seen the debriefing.

and schumacher madly going to coulthard is a 'singlehandedly' incident. senna walked to schumi a long time ago, too. piquet once got into a fight. trulli and i dont remember who, sutil? once almost got into a direct brawl.
for that matter, sutil gushed a man's throat if you believe the media. there's enough to talk about, some exciting, some less exciting.

a accidental mentioning of a friggin hat makes f1 robotic? for phunks sake how short-sighted.

Well there was internet, just not everyone wanted to sit for a few minutes whilst the modem beeped away and got rejected over and over again as every man and his dog was trying to connect during cheap rates.

There are only a few real 'characters' in F1 and with Maldonado going there is one less.
Maldonado a real character? The only attention he gets is when he has done something crazy on track. Otherwise he doesn't get much air time. The things he says are often either a bit stupid or self obsessed. I don't see him as particularly interesting.

"Few real characters" is not fair on the drivers in my opinion. Some of them seek attention, some don't. Just as in normal life. Neither do I need to see them get into a fight for me to say they are real characters.

The only objection I have is when they are forced or forbidden to talk about a topic, like about Pirelli after what happened at SPA 2015. But that's not the drivers fault at all, those are corporate decisions.

Agreed, more often than not each time Pastor opened his trap, stupidity would escape.

I do miss the likes of Mark Webber though, he always had the attitude that "if I've got something to say I'll say it, regardless of the PR rubbish", yes sometimes he made himself look stupid, but more often than not he would not bow to the corporate speak and call a spade a spade.

Two very different guys, both equally as out spoken, only one worth listening to.

Unfortunately most of the words that came out of his mouth were either whining or some passive aggressive complaining.

I reckon he could make a career as a guest star in demolition derbys the world over.....
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I think he was a character. Not as expressive off-track as Webber, Hunt et al, In fact he was rubbish to watch in interviews, but on the track though, there was something! A bit like Kobayashi or Sato.

Now that Maldonado has left, and Renault assumed ownership, perhaps Apple will consider replacing Microsoft as a sponsor. The operating environment is more stable, and far fewer crashes.

Wehrlein got the Manor seat.

BILD oficial

and also now on autosport

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/122751

and then 2017 Williams... or Merc... I doubt he is better than HAM or ROS though.
