Could you post an image of what you're seeing?

I solved it yesterday, there was a setting in Sketchup that I hadn't enabled that made intersecting lines visible.

Hello, After having patch 001, 002, 003, 004, and 005 not working, I am hopeful that the next one will see a step forward: patch 006 at http://www.khamsinvirtualracecarchallen ... .1-006.zip

One note of caution: I had to change how the boundary conditions where handled (on the source code side, not on the "physics" side). I haven't had time to have a full look so please let me know if I missed something or something is out of place, in particular:

- Rotation of wheels;
- Flow rate of intake and exhaust;
- Boundary layer meshing.

Sorry for all the hassle. Also, I re-installed everything back on amazon and the new instance is publicly available. I will be doing a couple of tweaks to Amazon in the next week to make it work with the most recent instances (m4 - a little cheaper). The amazon AWS installation process is documented at https://juliendecharentenay.wordpress.c ... for-occfd/.

Next step: making sure it works, then finishing the radiator. And getting a linux version together...

It looks like it is working form my side, but have feedback that people are experiencing divergence with the normal version. I am using Amazon AWS with openFoam 3.0 - so this may explain some of the difference and will test v2.3 asap.

I finalised the race calendar dates (about time). The pre-season race was due in March (very shortly). I tried to push it back as much as possible, but it is only a few weeks away. I know it is not ideal as occfd is still very much moving around...

The race dates are:

- Pre-season: Submission March 21st with results March 27th. Note this pre-season race is only a one submission round - we will run all car and advise on compliance, but not the usual resubmission;
- Race #1 Nurburgring: Submission 14th April with compliance resubmission on 19th April and results on 24th April;
- Race #2 Monaco: Submission on 19th May with compliance resubmission on 24th May and results on 29th May;
- Race #3 Silverstone: Submission on 30th June with compliance resubmission on 5th July and results on 10th july;
- Race #4 Sepang: Submission on 8th September with compliance resubmission on 13th September and results on 18th September;
- Race #5 Sao Paulo: Submission on 13th October with compliance resubmission on 18th October and results on 23rd October.

Happy racing...

Hi!

This might seem like a silly questions, but after the n+1 unsuccessful attempt to get enough cooling air into my heat exchangers I re-read the rules and I need a clarification. Does the 3m^3/s flow rate relate to each heat exchanger or is it for the whole cooling system?

Hi, I think it is related to each heat exchanger, but let's wait for Chris or Julien.
Are you simulating the cooling ducts with FlowSimulation (SWX)?

Hello, please excuse my lack of knowledge, but I am really interested in setting up khamsin with sketchup. I have tried numerous times to set it up, each attempt unsuccessful. I downloaded the khamsin plugin, and I downloaded openfoam and some other tools it prompted me to download. Then I installed paraview, but there are a number of tools that I need to install which are no longer available. Please could someone help me get this working? It would save a lot of money

The other thing I wanted o know is how to set up a proper solvable model in sketchup, which things to label inlet and outlet etc, which things to mark as solid etc

This would be a great help

Yes, I am using Flow Simulation. I was using the porous medium approach, with no great success. Parameters were just educated guesses, but I think they were good enough to get a direction. Now I might try the fallback method to see how results compare...

I some point I think I should try with OCFD, but SW post-processing is so user friendly....

3m^3/sec is the total, so if you split it equally left and right that is 1.5 each side.

The same applies to the pressure integral: the value in the rules is for the whole car, so for a system equally split left and right you need to split the pressure integral in half too.

Out of interest, what sort of figures are people getting?

Hi,
I do not use OCCFD but this sounds like you did not or incorrectly installed Paraview.
pybatch is the executable that creates the pretty pictures (in batch).

You should check if you can run Paraview, then if you can start it from command line and then if you can start pvbatch.
