GP Update

The newly renamed Force India F1 Team will be in action for the first time on track at Barcelona from Tuesday until Thursday. The team will also run a new livery of burgundy red and white.
Just what we need another Red and white car!

Apparently Luizzi and Klien are Test for them.

Kingfisher India could have been a better name I suppose.

I personally am happy, but the name is extremely daft.

And what is Italian about a team of mainly brits, who just had a frenchman at the helm? With a finn and a brazilian driving.

Mainly brits.... you mean the guys shown on TV 2 times per month or those coupla hundred ppl working in Maranello?

That remark would be fair about the japanese, ex-russian and ex-dutch teams tho

Exactly, hence it NOT being named "Force Italy"! Get the point there?

Regardless of everyones nationality, the name "Force Inda" is extremely corny, we all know it. Besides, only the team owner is Indian.

First off, the I believe the new announced colors of burgundy and white is interim only for testing and am certain they will have a new livery for race day once sponsors are found.

This leads to their team name. Don't get too hung up on the fact that Force India team is not Indian. I don't believe it is there to indicate that they are based in India, or composed of mainly Indians or anything of sort like A1. Mallya indicated the team name would have the word India to attract interest/sponsorship from India.
a.) he wants to attract interest from spectators for future F1 race in India and
b.) he wants to attract titile sponsors $ to the team either Indian or foreign multi-national companies interested themselves to promote their brand in India. That's why he didn't use Kingfisher in the name & take up valuable naming space. Quite clever I think.

Super Aguri sounds like Bad Engrish, but the name has stuck and nobody really talks about it anymore, except the SpeedTV guys who like to call them "Super Best Friends".

I don't mind Force India, and the name can always change, and DOES with Jordan/Midland/Spyker yearly.

Just because it's now owned by a douchebag, doesn't mean that he will give up losing money after a season and sell again.
