I miss the sports car racing of the 90's (not old enough to remember the sports cars of the 60's).

The GT scene was destroyed by the homologation specials that were designed for the track first and road as an afterthought.

I actually wish Alexander Rossi would be in one of those LMP1's. It would be epic to win Indy 500 and the 24h Le Mans in one season.

looks like Porsche and Aston is complaning about the BOP in GTEpro

it does look a bit suspicious that 10 days ago every one was reasonably balanced on performance
and now Ferrari and Ford is 5 seconds quicker..

In Fords return to Le Mans, race is started by Brad Pitt currently starring in a movie about Ford and Ferrari battling at Le Mans the BOP just happens to make sure the battle at the front will be between Ford and Ferrari

That's an awful lot of coincidence

Does anyone else find GT racing a bit of a joke when the BOP can be radically altered between qualifying and race day?

It was my understanding that the Fords were designed specifically for Le Mans, the rest of the tracks over the season had no precedence in their design. It could explain why they are so much faster here.

But also the image in my head, of him having a bit of a shunt, crawling out of the wreckage, with the marshals trying to make sense of what is happening... (At 3AM in the morning when it's pitch black dark)

How is he able to hop out of the car within the required 5 to 10 seconds?

I know what the tactic is which Is why I consider the affair to be a joke. I honestly have no idea why Ford and Ferrari were driving so fast during the least important qualifying session of the year, why wouldn't they sandbag in quali and just blitz the race?

This is the part I don't understand. The guy has to be lowered into the cars by 4 or 5 people so what happens if his car catches fire away from a marshal's post? Does he just burn to death?
